Nah just excuses like they did with the underarm delivery! A low blow is a low blow, show your better than that. All the Australian cricket team showed was they’re not better….
Brian Lara would never have done anything like that, he has to much class!

It’s context though, we’re they batting out of their crease, we’re they trying to get a quick run or at the end of an over. I don’t know the incidents u are referring to but u need context!

The one of the Indian player inside his crease, his name escapes me, Bairstow literally waits a few seconds until the Indian bat lifts his back foot to adjust his stance (inside the crease,) and then Bairstow whips the bails off. At least Carey launched it at the stumps as soon as he took the delivery. He wasn't leaving his crease, nor was he attempting a run but don't let the truth get in the way of your opinion.

Huge difference between this and the underarm. For starters, NZ didn't bowl the underarm delivery several times in the years leading up to it and then complain when they were on the receiving end of it.

Mmmm - according to McGrath ...."
"What is telling is every single one of the former players I have spoken to, English or Australian, did not have a problem with it. Even West Indies legend Brian Lara has said it was out."

Have to say I can’t wait for play to start so we can move on to new discussion points. I think the Starc and Carey issues should be put to bed now.
Interesting that Anderson predicted his own demise previously due to the flat nature of the pitches. But a 41, it had to wind down sometime.
Come on Headingly, let’s get ready for episode 3. Go Aussies.

nah that’s just victim loser mentality. You can call it a low blow all you like. Aussies won and that was a crucial moment of a game in a crucial moment of the series. I’ll remember it forever. How Carey outsmarted Bairstow.

I thought I was in the majority but seems like I'm in the minority with this opinion. I think if any of the following occur such as keeper in control of the ball, umpire calling over or batsman tapping his bat or foot in the crease, it's a deadball. The period of time when the ball is with the keeper to the point where the bowler releases the ball for the next ball is grey in cricket and both sides shouldn't run nor get people out.

I'm still glad it happened to the Poms though.

It's surprising how long this discussion has gone on for, especially considering the crazy amount of hypocrisy from those arguing against it being out. Their coach has done it, Bairstow literally attempted it the same match, according to Head - Bairstow also claimed he would of whipped the bails had he left the crease during Head's innings for a similar walk down the pitch routine... so what the [This word has been automatically removed] is their argument here?

They know the series is all but lost and they are stamping their feet.
Everyone pointing out their hypocrisy must be really stinging them.

No it’s called sportsmanship, something u and the Aussie team have no idea about. And would waxing lyrical if the shoe was on the other foot!

Yeah he’s really grown into the role. I must admit I hadn’t really followed him that closely until the championship final.
He hit a tonne last summer against the Saffas and a few 50’s since.
Very good glovesman, always looking for weaknesses in the batsmen.
