Cricket Season Thread

Just read on cricinfo that Watson has done his hamstring. Theyre not sure how bad it is and whether he'll be back.

How good is Kallis?
the man gets hardly any fanfare when it comes to the greatest players in the game, yet statistically he is one of the greatest cricketers ever
easily the greatest all-rounder to ever play the game

Stats aren't everything GNR
Keith Miller could of been anything if he took batting seriously

He is very underrated, imo he would walk into any batting lineup based on his batting alone, then throw in his 250 odd wickets and 150 odd slips catches and it makes him one of the top 5 players of all time.
There's something about the South African players that doesnt get them a lot of fanfare really, I mean Shaun Pollock took over 400 wickets at 23 and averaged 30 with that bat which is Hadlee-esque figures.

Good to see Cummins strike, a good first up wicket of Amla. I guess we may have gone for some runs from over pitching but its got us wickets too.

10,000 runs and over 250 wickets. That's a freakish effort for anyone. Kallis is one my favourite non-Aus players to watch. Can hit a ball as well.

To those talking about O'Keefe, I have a feeling his ego problem might be keeping him out of the Test team.

Happy, I know stats don't neccessarily tell the whole story, but come on, the guy has scored 40 test centuries, thats more than Ricky Ponting, and second only to Sachin Tendulker. Thats a pretty damming stat. And we haven't even touched his bowling

The Qld v NSw Sheffield Shield game is poised evenly NSW need 180 runs with 7 wickets in hand

C'mon Qld

Once again O'Keefe is showing how underrated he is. 4/66 off 34 overs.
Meanwhile Smith didnt bowl at all in the 2nd innings and only bowled 1 over for 12 runs in the first. Looks like he is going down the Cameron White route.

Would have to say QLD are favourites at this stage, the Gabba is always helpful for bowlers in the Shield.

But not as you would normally think Spoke to my father last night he was listening to ABC radio and pitch was taking a lot of spin which is pretty strange for the Gabba

NSW 4 for not many but a lot of batting to come. Still very much up for grabs!

Try 6-59 Yoss now Qld looking like we will be 4 for 4 this season

Is there any sport Qld can't dominate ??

That's not good. Are these guys actually Queenslanders Happy or ringers like the other teams?

7-99 And of course Yoss
Where did you get this idea that we get ring ins from other states Yoss

8-155 now. That man O'Keefe is keeping things interesting, Nevill just dismissed. 69 to get but only 2 wickets. I sense Doug Bollinger limping out at 9 for to hit the winning runs! Qld definitely on top though at the moment
I actually shouldn't say too much about interstate ring-ins - there are a couple in the NSW team!

Qld crushes NSW by 15 runs 😱pen_mouth: Yep Yoss Happy was starting ot get the Yip spretty bad (It was never in doubt) :sunglasses:

NSW all out 209\. O'Keefe shows a disgraceful lack of confidence in the Dougster and goes for the big tonk but is caught. So NSW lose 1st innings by 5, outright by 13 and get squat for the game. Qld can almost start thinking about how they'd like the pitch for the final.

They've really turned a corner Qld, especially their bowling. Cutting and Alistair McDermott look promising
