Cricket Season Thread

When you analyse our performance in the field its really not that great
Cummings got Rohit who played a terrible shot
Cummings got Rahul with a fantastic ball ( that's 1 )
Jaiswal out runout to a suicidal run
Boland got Rahul with a good ball ( that's 2 )
Boland got Deep the night-watchman
Boland got Pant with a gifted stupid shot
Lyon got Jedaja with a good ball ( that's 3 )
Lyon had a short 4 over spell where he bowled well that's it !
Starc looking like he's playing partly injured
On top of this our ground fielding has looked slow and cumbersome
3 wickets from good balls and " tired " fielding

Last time India here we had same problem where we can't wrap up their innings
On a flat wicket Lyon is supposed to get more wickets and as usual he is just not looking dangerous
Doesn't auger well if we go to Sydney with the same team
 
For years when the going got tough, you would throw the ball to Warnie or McGrath to make something happen. Sadly we do not have that X factor bowler at present. Don’t get me wrong our current bowling attack has carried the Aussie cricket team for years but on unresponsive pitches they struggle.

They are a class below those two. Idk of if id go as far as to call the quartet overrated, but they definitely let the tail wag way too much for a bowling unit as highly rated as they are
 
Session 1 2-80 sort of ok
Session 2 0-82 very poor
Session 3 ? This next 2 hours critical for the test and series

The wicket is flat Lyon must come good
 
Lyon bowls way too short. Gives the batsmen all the time in the world to rock onto the back foot and pummel it through point.
 
First 6 overs this session only 6 runs
Lyon comes on bowls loose and 6 runs pressure off
If Marsh and Lyon don't produce something they should be both gone for
Sydney

I agree. I think Marsh is gone with maybe Beau Webster coming in. Lyon is not a key wicket taker but who do we bring in for him? I think they'll rest Starc as well.
 
Even our good bowlers are consistent with length but that length means the ball will always pass over stump high
Its like we are ruling out Lbw
 
Still a lot of cricket to be played in this one and knowing both batting lineups all 3 results are probably on the table.

Its been nice to watch the redemption story of Marsh but sentiment can only get him so far. Webster should play if they want an extra bowler, Inglis should play if they want to stiffen up the batting.

I think considering its the 5th test and Starc is looking pretty stiff they would like the extra bowling option
