Cricket Season Thread

In about 30 mins our Champions Trophy semi final against India begins in Dubai
Scanning Indian media this is a very important event to almost 1.4 bill people
Whereas here due to various reasons ,Footy season here ,We don't have our strongest team or just cricket weary its passing with little fanfare
No free to air ,No fox sports only Prime which at least is cheap
Anyway hope our team with our 2nd string bowling attack can spring a surprise like we did in the World Cup final
 
Smith wins the toss .We bat first Connolly in for Short and Tanveer Sangha in for Spenser Johnson
This is a strange bowling attack
Dwarshius ,Ellis ,Zampa , Maxwell ,Sangha ,Connolly and Head
Whatever ! Hope I'm wrong but doesn't compare to what India faced here recently Cummins ,Starc ,Hazelwood ,Boland and Lyon
 
Geeze this young bloke has played the worst inning I’ve seen in a long time.
Played and missed 7 or 8 times until he finally knicked it for a 9 ball duck.
Bravo young fella, glad you were selected lol….
 
63 off first 10 ( head factor )
42 off next 10 ( steady Smith and Marnus )
5 off next 2.5 ( getting bogged down so Marnus out Lbw )
 
That wasn't good by Inglis. He stayed so low and stood up too quickly for a slow ball and got late on it chipping it straight.

It's very poor technique and someone should correct it. For pitches with uneven bounce and two paced, hell struggle a lot.

Sorry but ball held up on pitch and he was early on it
 
Carey has played fantastic so far. He had to score at 100+ while keeping Smith company.

Needs to play more balls than Smith because Smith can't score at that pace anymore
 
Smith gets bowled by a rank full toss .Then Maxwell does his 6 and out usual
.We don't have a tail.! So from 4-198 to 6-205
All depends on Carey now
 
So from 4 - 198 to 10 - 264
Lose 6 -66 at the end batted 49.3 overs
Can we defend ?
Doubt with this bowling attack

Very ill disciplined batting from Australia.
Connely, Head, Inglis, Smith and Maxwell all threw their wickets away with really poor shots.
The score seems about 50 runs short.
It will take a miracle to defend this.
 
Well, as expected, India chased the runs down pretty easily.
Australia batted dumb and you cant afford to do that when your bowling attack is so new.
Its a shame that India always get their own way by making teams fly to Dubai to play them.
Such an unlikeable bunch of pricks as well.
Lets hope NZ or SA can stop them in the final.

meh not really. They need to continually be brought down a peg and realise they arent the only team in the world that matters.
The tournament was being held in Pakistan. 7 countries lived trained and played there. 1 didnt.
The same one that always wants special treatment.
