Knowing the history between India and Pakistan, India has every right to say they won't go to Pakistan. It's like a Russian/Ukranian football team refusing to play in each other's countries.meh not really. They need to continually be brought down a peg and realise they arent the only team in the world that matters.
The tournament was being held in Pakistan. 7 countries lived trained and played there. 1 didnt.
The same one that always wants special treatment.

Since India brings in the most revenue, not having India as part of the comp would be a big issue financially.
The best compromise was achieved in the sense that India played out of Dubai which is less than 4 hour flight.
It is an advantage to India but that was the best decision. There is no way that any team will go on record to say we had an advantage though. Just like Broncos will never go on record to say we Friday night games give us an advantage.
Basically the ICC is gutlessI completely disagree,India has been allowed to play at one ground for all their matches staying at the one hotel and being able to know exactly what sort of players to use on that one field.Every other nation has had to carry players to play on both pace and spinning wicket and travel from one location to another. The entire competition has been rigged to suit India and i hope who ever wins the next semi flogs them in the final.
This has been blatant favouritism.
Steve Smith announces retirement from 50 over cricket and joins a growing list of players who just want 2 things
- play test cricket for as long as form allows
- play T20 and franchise T20 as THATS WHERE THE MONEY IS !
When your in your 30's Family financial security overrides all other considerations
I expect many more to follow suit
IMO T20 is a stupid game which limits the variety of skills needed
T20 cricket will eventually destroy 50 over cricket
The bucket head brigade who don't know the difference between a cover drive and a forward defence but simply know if the ball reached the boundary or went over it will be happy
It's not about being gutless.Basically the ICC is gutless
After they decided to award this Champions Trophy to Pakistan for the top 8 teams at the end of the last World Cup .
Next the BCCI says to the ICC that India refuse to go to Pakistan So the ICC should have simply replied OK don't come and invite SL instead
Ps Re Security .In my work career I've travelled to both places many many times and India over 70 times .No where is 100% safe and on the rare occasions something happens its mostly based on anti western sentiment not Indian .The security was immense .I went there in the 80's and 90's when terrorism was rampart
With all the front line pace attack out who would you have taken instead of Johnson etcNZ beat South Africa with both Rachin Ravindra and Kane Williamson getting tons .
So they now fly to Dubai to play the privileged Indians
Of the 4 semi-finalists 3 basically had full strength teams representing their country and 1 did not
We basically had a reasonable batting line up ( no Marsh or Green )
But missing almost all our bowling line up our selectors thought to experiment with a few BBL stars . However this is a different game and this experiment FAILED !
That is an interesting list, which just reinforces what a great batsman Steve Smith has been for Australia.

There are plenty of England supporters claiming that Joe Root is the best batsman in the world at the moment and they are hoping that he will dominate when he tours here next summer (for the 4th time) to win the Ashes. However, statistics would suggest that this is unlikely.
Root has played 34 Ashes test for an average of only 40.47. His performances in Australia have been mediocre for a quality batsman. He has played 14 tests in Australia, never scored a century and averaged only 35.68.
Smith on the other hand has played 37 Ashes tests, for an average of 56.02. He averages around 55 in England. His home and away batting averages are quite outstanding.
Root may dominate next summer and get England home. However, if he does it will be the first time since he started touring here in 2013. He has not dominated a test match in Australia, let alone a series and, at the age of 35 years, it might be a bit much to expect.
Pretty sure our Star bowlers will be fit to go for the IPL which starts in about 3 weeks .A few million for a couple of months work is a great pay dayWith all the front line pace attack out who would you have taken instead of Johnson etc
