Given how well the pitch is now playing, the question is, can we bowl India out in 2 days? I'd like to think Lyon will be able to get some decent turn out of the pitch, but it's looking very good for the batsmen so far.

The pitch will get progressively worse over the next 2 days, we will get the wickets, my bet late tomorrow afternoon.

Haddin's drop catch was disapointing. Unfortunately the end is near for Haddin, keeping is demanding and has taken its toll. Fast bowlers and keepers rarely get past the early 30's.

Selection conundrum, Pat Cummings returns shortly, do they bring him in?? he is clearly the future, but this bowlng attack is doing extremely well. Maybe they rotate the 4 of them, they each miss 1 in 4 tests, based on the breaks they need.

I was lucky enough to be at the SCG today to watch Clarke and Hussey bat in fine form. The Indians looked very ordinary, I'm heading back tomorrow and hoping for a full days play weather permitting.

lucky you, not often you get to witness a triple century live!

Have seen many great moments at the SCG, wish I was there today.

Ill be there tomprrow in a box, first time in a box at the cricket for me

I wonder if Clarke could be a hero with the ball today as well with the track flattening out completely for the quicks ??

I rate Clarke as a part timer. He should bowl himself more often.

They'd be tempted to, but I reckon they should save him for the ODI's and Shield games and bring him back along that way. Hardly fair that Siddle, Hilfy & Pattinson have all been bowling well and then have to make way for him. Then there's Harris who was forced to carry the drinks this game. Even if they play four quicks in Perth, someone is still going to miss out. Cummings will get his chance again.

Need a few wickets and then they will choke…

What do you mean? how can they choke when there is no expectation on them? choking is throwing a game away when you are in a position to win, not crumbling when there is no pressure

I'll say one thing and thats Nathan Lyon isn't a threat. If India have done one thing so far this summer its the fact they have shown up Nathan Lyon

Maybe but I'd reply with two comments:

1 - India are the best players of spin in world cricket
2 - Lyon's performance has been far and away the best of any of the spinners we've given a game to over recent years and it's not like he's keeping the next Shane Warne out of the side…

Well, for our best spinner since Warne to only bowl two overs in the first 50 in the second innings of a Sydney test, that isn't showing a lot of confidence in him

If it was Sydney 10 years ago I'd agree but we're talking about a pitch where not a single Australian wicket fell to spin in almost 2 days of batting. I don't think it is fault the wicket is more of a seamers wicket.

Aaaaaaaand he takes the wicket of Tendulkar.

Get your pillows ready, the game has just gone from a run chase to 4-and-half sessions of stonewalling. If Laxman goes, they're shot.

These 2 need to see out the day and Dhoni to hang around if they're to survive. If we're into their bowlers this time tomorrow we'll get them (weather permitting).
