Well at least at this stage some of us Wests Tigers supporters have something to look forward to this weekend Tassie 6-208 Go Qld (Don't worry happy has just put the kiss of death on us )

Tassie all out 234 Qld (I told you Happy's kiss of death would get us) 2-8 Wrong B Yoss sticking it to us Not Bird but Butterworth

Looks like I might have to slip down to Brisbane and dig up the pitch and turn the sprinklers on :smiling_imp:

241 I think for Tassie. Every run is vital here Happy!! Looks like it could be an 80s style final. Butterworth is a good player - he must be getting close to making the ODI side. He can bat too.

I don't know about that Yoss in regards to a made up fact I have seen some of the players reactions when they have got 100 hundreds (first class cricket only) Geoff Boycott was almost in tears when he achieved the feat
Tendulkar has taken it to the next level with 100 hundreds in international cricket

!00 hundreds at first class level is an established stat. First class cricket is a reasonably consistent form of cricket. This was just thrown together when someone figured he was getting close to the figure. Most people think it is for test cricket but it includes ODI tons and is fluffed by close to 20% of them being against Bangladesh (6), Zimbabwe (8), Kenya (4), and Namibia (1).

I just don't like stats across different forms of the game. Suggesting making 10 half-centuries in 20/20 cricket is the same as test cricket is crazy. ODIs and different enough from tests that they warrant discrete statistics. Nobody has seriously suggested we move to one batting average for every type of cricket so why should we care about this?

ABC online has a great interactive map for Tendulkar's thing…

I'm with Yoss in regards to it being a made up stat. To me it'd be like adding Toyota Cup tries to first grade tries when we look at career tallies.

To me it was just another excuse for the Indian media and public to celebrate another individual achievement. I think this has been shown through the fact that I have seen more stories even on cricinfo about Tendulkar reaching his 100th 100 then I have of Bangladesh actually beating India.

Looking at the cricinfo commentary he was very slow as he approached his ton. Pretty much the reason why India ended up losing.

It isn't a big tournament, and whilst he'd be upset his team lost the game, he'd be glad he got the monkey off his back. He isn't to blame for the loss either, it's the guys at the other end who didn't score enough runs. Did Australia blame Warner when we lost the 2nd final against Sri Lanka for scoring at a similar rate?

Will be a fascinating finish in Shield Final How we go chasing a total for the young inexperienced Qld batsman will be interesting Hopefully they knock Cowan over cheaply tomorrow and keep the run chase under 150

If the Islanders can strech the lead to 220 they might be able to snatch this game

Some people blamed him. But he (Warner) was slow at the start rather than when he was approaching his century? Tendulkar really slowed down and in the prime scoring overs.

Not a big tournament? The Asia Cup? Not to us maybe but I'm sure it's a big deal to the teams playing.

Maybe he slowed a little too much, but he still helped India get a strong total on the board (one they should have defended). His total output was similar to Warner's (runs score and balls faced), and his 114 runs on the board were 114 runs that the Bangladesh team had to chase down. His longer term output will now be better that he does not have the burden of 100 centuries on his back which has clearly been slowing him down for the best part of a year. He is currently firing for India against Pakistan in a match that if they win will see them in the final (although if they lose they probably will still make it). Whilst I don't know what it means to the teams playing in it, I am sure there is bigger tournaments for them to win.

The World Cup aside I'd say this is the second biggest ODI tournament for these countries. Probably even bigger than the ICC Championship or whatever that other thing was called…

Should see the XXXX flowing this afternoon around the Gabba!!!

Should do but 131 isn't a walk in the park. Could be some nervous moments if the Tasmanian bowlers can make some early inroads.

Yeah I thought that was weird! Unless there is a hat-trick after tea the Bananabenders have this in the bag and Chris Hartley is the man they can thank for it. A shoe-in for the MOM award
