The word is Watson sooked that the in-house punishment from Clarke and Arthur wasn't enough so they were forced to inform Cricket Australia and that's why the story come out a few days after the incident.

I'm not surprised if that's true as Watson seems to be a pretentious sook.

Apparently he was involved in a physical altercation with English batsman Joe Root.

Has a player ever been sent home for that in the past?

Would be the only root Warner gets on tour. Can't stand the egotistical little stroker, the sooner his career self-destructs and he disappears the better. Just a shame the Aussies don't have anyone better to take his place.

Well there are reports Micky Arthur has been sacked from his role as Aussie coach. Cricket Australia is doing everything they can to ensure their side won't go into this Ashes series well prepared.

Seriously ?? He was only on Grandstand yesterday when I was driving to work

Was copping a bit of a grilling over Warner and his lack of match practise going into the 1st Test

Also they were questioning him about the way the squad is all split up all over the English countryside

Just watching a one on one interview with Michael Clarke. If theres ever been a bigger brown nosing yes man in Australian sport than him, im yet to discover him.

You've got to feel sorry for the bloke ,dated that imbecile Lara Bingle

three minutes in her company and your IQ would drop off the map

What CA are doing now is very good. Getting Lehmann and Marsh will lead to a massive change in team culture, from an overly-professional ice-baths-and-essay-writing culture to an aggressive, mate-for-mate never-say-die attitude. Inverarity being sacked from selecting won't hurt either. Too late for these Ashes, but better late than never.

I heard an interview with Lehmann while they were playing Somerset (I think) and he basically said: "We'll push for a win in the final day. If they come out and play to win, and beat us, then good on them. If they don't come out and play to win, I'll cane the s**t out of them in the press."

Anyone want to put their predictions in for the Ashes series

I'm saying 2-2

We will be similar to the Tigers , we will have some great days , but we will throw in some shockers as well

Expect our bowlers will keep us in the series ,but it still see major issues with our top 6 and the suggestion for Warner to bat 5-6 are lunacy in my opinion

I'm thinking leaning towards England. Not sure the score. I don't think it will be a drawn series. I wouldn't be surprised to see an extremely inconsistent Australia and a solid England.

Not too confident about this one, I'll go 2-1 to England. Unless someone else steps up I think if they knock Clarke over cheaply twice in a game then they'll probably win that game.

Wow !!! i'll drink whatever your drinking  . Would love for that to happen , but doubt it , Alistar Cook is gonna have a field day with us I fear .

Excluding the sacking of the coach, this has been one of the best preparations by an Australian team in recent years. The whole squad has practically been playing in England for the past two months in either county cricket or on the A tour. This is completely different to previous tours where the team arrived two weeks before the first test.

Australia not as weak as stated, England not a strong as stated.

Pattinson and Starc are close to the most lethal combination in world cricket and are at the precipice of their prime. This will be the watershed tour. I think this is also the time for Lyon to arrive on the big stage.

The batsmen just need to score 300 or so per innings. The bowlers will do the rest.
