Matador Cup update…

Mighty NSW Blues 6-304 def QLD all out 158 in 39.1 overs

No Starc for the Blues ...No worries...N. Lyon 4/3...

NSW and Australian Capt S Smith 136n.o. from 142 Balls....

Yet again Geo breaks protocol :brick:

Sheffield Shield banter can only take place when Australia retains the Ashes or when Qld is winning

Put yourself on Mod Review please

If a one-day World Cup was held today, batting great Mark Taylor believes the NSW Matador Cup team would make the semi-finals...

And yet you got beaten by Victoria …......... :roll

Time to talk about some real cricket. The Poms came within a whisker of one of the biggest wins in recent memory after conceding 500+ in the first innings. Made almost 600, then bowled the Paki's out and had about 15 overs in bad light to chase down 100\. They got within 20 runs.

Lots and lots of great cricket coming up over the next few months. SA v India, SA v England. Aus v WI will be a bore fest, but NZ i think will put up a good fight against the Aussies in their test series. Especially given how different the Aussie side will be in the first test compared to the last test in England. I think the Kiwi's will be competitive. SA v India in India has the potential to be a classic series. Will be a great gauge to see just how great the Saffas are.

Paki's did well to hold out.

CA should do everything they can to get the whole compliment over. Gayle would put more bums on seats.

What's happening with Shiv? Has he retired finally?

Not officially, he was dropped for the last series against the Aussies. At 41 though, hard to see him coming back.

Matadore Cup Update…

Mighty NSW Blues smash S.A, by 9 wickets in Final to claim the Australian Domestic ODI Title,,,

S.A, all out 221 Starc 3 for 39 Hazlewood 3 for 29...NSW 1/223 in 29.5 overs....... Smith 84n.o. (72 balls) Cowan 88n.o.(78 balls)...

Wonder how Cowan will fare during the Sheffield Shield. No obvious replacement for Buck yet.

I still reckon Khawaja has been thrown on the scrap heap way too early.

He's every chance of playing next test.

Who Yoss? Uzi or Cowan?

Lot of players unhappy with the pink balls for the day night Test matches

Be interesting to see where this all finishes in the aftermath of the Test match

Stupid concept.

Don't piss about with the purest form of the game.

If they dont do something Test cricket will die out.

It needs to be commercially viable, and Day night test matches will do that.

Steve Waugh commented on the need for it today in an article I read (and can no longer find) and I agree with his thoughts, The pink ball may not be perfect, but either was the white ball originally, and in the scheme of things it is not that important.

Basically excluding Australia and ENgland, no one else can fill a ground for test cricket.

Uzi. Cowan would be a bit of a step backwards but we're short on openers. No doubt we'll just end up with the Marsh brothers and the selectors will be startled when it doesn't work long-term. Or Shaun will make a ton first up and then bugger all afterwards. Time for Khawaja, Burns etc to get a run. I can see Uzi having a big series if he gets a go.
