The Aussie have clearly been told not to pull and hook short balls, all the way at least back to the series here against NZ. As a result, when the ball gets a little older, teams can bounce us with impunity. THere is no way of putting the pressure back on the bowling team.
This is the same country that gave us Ian Chappell, Dougie, Early S Waugh and Ricky POnting. Hooking and pulling is a very important weapon for a batsman and taking it away significantly impacts the balance of power.
Ive never rated Langer as a coach
In two games we have probably won about an hour and a half of cricket
We thought India would rollover once Shami was injured and Kohli went home ......if I was the Indian coach I would have used the no Kohli and Shami as motivation to win ...win without our best batsmen and best bowler (arguably )
Pathetic ......couldn't score over 200 in either innings
I'm sorry but our infatuation to create an all rounder that can bat 6 is getting to the madness stage ...let it happen ...don't force it .....the 6 spot in my opinion is one of the most important roles in a batting line up .....If you get a good start they are probably going end up facing the 2nd new ball and if you get off to a stinker he needs to be able to hold the innings together and bat smart with the tail
Cam Green wasn't the issue at all.
Apart from Marnus/Smith, no one has the temparament to face 200 balls.
Warner/Pucovski to open and Wade/Green in the lower middle order.
I understand Aussies struggling a bit as there hasn't been much test match played in the last 18 months internationally or domestic.
Green isn't a Test Match quality 6 ...well not yet anyway
He showed he had the temperament in the last innings. He has a lot of mental resilience. The top order is a lot more important than No.6. You only need them if the top order has failed.
You need them to make a good start a great start and many times they are facing the 2nd new ball in that situation ......and you need a cricketing brain if you have to get runs when batting with the tail ...of the Top 6 spots its bloody important
