Thought he might have been Australia’s oldest living test cricketer. But he’s not. Ken Archer currently holds that crown at 93 years young.

Amazing, would have thought there would be a few around the 100 mark

R.I.P Alan Davidson, geez there's gonna be one impressive cricket squad in he sky.

Was given Davo's autobiography ....15 paces

Classy man .....from what I've heard arguably our best left armer ever ...could bowl spin or seam ...good batsmen and one of the best fieldsmen ever ....

Mallett was an extremely underrated spinner and a very good gully fielder ......not the worst lower order batsmen either

RIP Ashley Mallett and Alan Davidson ......

This is a great article written about Alan Davidson:

Never saw Davo bowl live, but saw a lot of Rowdy. Best offie we have produced with May and Lyons not far behind. His stats probably don’t tell you the true story and bowling spin behind KD Lillie,Thomo and co your opportunities were limited. My two favourite spinners of that era were Johnny Gleeson and Mallet

Thanks champion @supercoach - some great memories there.
Gleeson wasn't always picked but he was amazing - hard to pick his action.
Mallet always popular in the Lillie era and Davo was the Godfather around the Western Suburbs club, among later cricket leaders Simpson, Wellham and Clarke.

Anyone staying up to watch Aussies vs Poms?

Will have that on the laptop with Liverpool vs. Brighton on the TV :+1:

I played for Magpies Cricket Club & Davo was our Patron, just a great man, nothing was to much trouble for him. I was lucky enough to see him play as well.

Rubbish performance against the League of Nations

The real stuff starts in just over a month.

Who u support in bbl mate?

Whoever my money is on. Don’t really care for 20/20 itself. I’m the purest type of cricket follower there is. As someone who loves a multi, it gives me something to bet on over summer though, so I enjoy it for that reason. Every year I think about getting into SC, but I really don’t think I’m invested enough to see it through.

going to bed now lol

Missed this because at 2-8 I also went to bed! Lol

Such a fragile batting line up. Only one bloke with the technique and talent to bat on a pitch that’s doing a bit so when he fails - we are gone!
Also, Starc is done imo
