By the way last time we played India at the Adelaide oval in a pink ball test
We got 189 in 1st innings and Smith got 1 off 29 balls

I've been reading a lot of post mortems on line and a couple of things stood out
Capt Pat doesn't feel the need for change because as he said one test is a very small sample size
I don't agree as I think our batting woes have been around a while and getting worse
Looking at most recent Australia batting in red or white ball I took no notice of the 3 T20i vs Pakistan as its a completely different game but the last 2 50 over games vs Pakistan yielded incredibly low scores of 163 and 140
A year earlier in the world cup we racked up scores close to 400
Our batting has fallen off a cliff
Listening to Gilchrist and Waugh talking after the conclusion of the test they were hinting that perhaps Smith and Marnus have lost a bit of their hand/eye coordination and fractions of a second off their reaction time which happens to most of us as we get older .
If that's true they might NEVER get back to their old form
Time for the best of our youth to get a go
Impressed with Henry Hunt as he got 106 in an innings where 6 of his team mates got ducks . Just my gut feel but I think Konstas can also make it !
Marnus is only 30. Too young for his eye to go. I think he has the yips. Needs some time in shield to work on his game and get the confidence back.

It does seem like the inevitable is happening with Smith. His front pad looks so vulnerable. In saying that I think he has enough runs in the bank to have a few tests to see what he can salvage.

Shame Green is injured. His all round game is hugely missed

You might be right re Marnus ,the Gilchrist Waugh chat seemed mainly about Smith . I'm not prepared to lose a series to give someone with runs in the bank more time to salvage things
I'm saying which choice is more likely to win the test and if the answer to that question is Smith then so be it !
Inglis with an Average of 99 and a Strike rate of 85 tells me his hand eye is good .

Judging by the coaches recent comments there will be no changes to the team for Adelaide.
Pick n stick, but if we lose there, or even just draw, it could bring about mass changes !

With the debate around Labuschagne and even Smith going to a pink ball day night test in Adelaide .Some would argue experience is needed .
So I looked at a recording of the last time we played India in a pink ball in Adelaide 4 years ago
Marnus got 47 in the 1st innings but was dropped on 0 and 21 and in the 2nd innings he got 6
Smith got 1 off 29 balls
Doesn't fill me with confidence given 4years have passed and both seem to be in decline .

Just had a horrible thought if selectors get it wrong
Imagine in this long awaited top of the table test series
We arrive at the MCG on boxing day and its a dead rubber !

Just watched day 1 of 1st test NZ V's England
NZ 8-319 not bad from the team who beat India 3-0 in India against the team who lost 2-1 in Pakistan
Good to see NZ bat defended the good balls attacked the loose ones
No jumping around like rabbits in the headlights -Simple
What was bad is England bowled just 83 overs despite the extra 30 mins and they bowled 20 overs of spin ? THATS SLOW

Well the guy who got 5 for against India the last time they were in Adelaide
is out !
Presume they replace him with the guy who got 6 for almost nothing against the poms at the MCG
If Boland doesn't play the selectors need to be reselected !

OMG PM'S 11 vs India
We have like 2 senior guys and a bunch of kids but India almost full strength
They sure don't like taking chances
Konstas and Renshaw opening its a 50 over game
If Konstas can get a score with pink ball against front line Indian attack it will mean something

Renshaw out for 5 off 19 balls and he looked very "iffy"
Siraj gets him .Forget that option
Konstas 2 boundaries 11 off 12 balls
Bloody rain stops play after 5.3 overs

Well Konstas 35 at a run a ball
Other 3 batsmen struggling
He has hit 6 boundaries so far
Renshaw failed 5 off 19
Goodwin failed 4 off 4
Clayton 19 off 30 balls so far
PM11 2-67 Off 15 overs ( 46 over game)

Konstas the one to be seriously considered now 54 off 49 still going
Strange rules no fielding restrictions ? Balls down leg side not wides ?
Makes his knock more impressive
These are the bowlers that terrorised us in Perth
This wicket has a lot of nibble
Selectors need to take notev!

Konstas the only constant 79 not out off 68 balls
Renshaw 5, Goodwin 4 , Davies 0 ,Edwards 1 , Harper 0 , O'Connor 4
Clayton got 40 off about 60 balls before clean bowled by Harshit Rana
6 batsmen 14 runs between them
Indians moving field to keep Konstas off strike
Stupid batting by all except 1 or 2
7-142
