7 scored below 5 runs and another scored 11. Only 2 batsmen scored runs. Lucky Konstas went well or that game would already be over.
12 of the 20 wickets we lost in Perth were to bowlers who played in this match
Plus Jedaja got 1 who didn't play in Perth
Also our last man out today was to an absolute screamer taken by Yep Jedaja
Konstas is .like a right-handed version of Travis Head

Wonder if there was a temptation to pull Boland out of this game? Doesnt seem ideal giving the Indians a look at him with the pink ball

Bumrah destroyed our top order .....he is arguably the best quickie in the world ...I'm not saying Konstas can't survive against him but he is far better than anyone he has faced at Shield level
I don't feel Marnus and Smith or MacSweeney are likely to survive long against Bumrah
Note Harshit Rana and Siraj also took crucial wickets in Perth

I'm not saying that Marnus, Smith and McSweeney are any more likely to cope with Bumrah .....just saying that until Konstas faces Bumrah we don't know where he stands
Just think with our ageing team we need to discover a new star
Eg like when Warner came on the scene or India finding Jaiswsl

Totally understand your position but would hate to see Konstas get destroyed by Bumrah .....Ashes series no worries

Listening to guys like Maxwell and Head they are totally in awe of Bumrah. Maxwell believes he will probably go down as one of if not the best fast bowler ever.

Bolo’s form hasn’t been the greatest this year and I see he didn’t take a wicket today. Maybe he’s not the answer, we need the next form bowler, not the next bowler who has been waiting the longest in line. I hope they pick this next team on form. I have no faith in Oz cricket, so we’ll soon see. It feels like we are being reactive instead of proactive, and now we are chasing the game. You could tell a year out some of these players were on the downhill run, they should have had a better lead up to this series. India might have been beaten at home by NZ but they have been playing test matches. Our players have been changing nappies and going to concerts. And it all shows.
Yes all this family priorities made me feel a couple of months ago we are going to be rusty and sub standard taking on India . Cummins in particular played minimal cricket.
We were brilliant in Nov 23 at the Narendra Modi stadium
We were very good in NZ but rest of the last year very patchy
I think Player Power has led to very inadequate preparation.

Benji is sounding the same and it’s a concern. Some of these Indian players are prepared to live homeless from the age of 12 in preparation for this test series and our prep was have the usual suspects show up on the day and we will pick a side. The current players don’t seem hungry enough.
