Cricket Season Thread

I was sick with cancer and chemo and shite, and got to watch every single game of that World Cup, it was one of the few perks of being sick, no work the next day. Same with the T20 World Cup.
Here's hoping 2025 is a good year for us both
I'm now 77 and finding health issues becoming more prevalent
Still play golf twice a week and getting 35 pts off handicap 24 is ok so far
But Would like Capt Pat to pull the right strings and cheer us all up
Fingers crossed for our 19 year old debutant

Mate to watch as much cricket as you do, you’d have to be retired or commentating.
I wish someone would employ me to travel the world talking about cricket.

Yep retired at 60 ,but was an ex pat for majority of my working life
1973-1976 was based in UK and went to 2 matches of first world cup in 1975
First Headingly where we beat Pakistan and the final at Lords which we would have won except for 5 run outs .Bloody Vic and Clive kept hitting the stumps

You’ve told me that story a few times Steve, and I love hearing it, what a game to have been at, but I’m starting to think you might need a sports psychologist, (that’s what the kids are in to these days isn’t it?), to get over those run outs.

Day 1 for me this year Steve.
I’m going with a couple of mates, one I’ve seen about ten tests with. The other is a Pom I’ve known for 20 years, it’s his first test. He’s already talking about going to watch the Poms next year.
But Mrs BF has asked if we can go somewhere else next year? I said yep, they play cricket in 4 other states, take your pick.
