Got to love Russell Arnold commentator
Former Sri Lankan cricketer and long time Australian resident
He said " there are more WESTS TIGERS jerseys here than Penrith ones
and expect big things this year !!!
Well said
I was wondering who it was. Think he also said he was looking forward to sitting on the hill.

Sri Lanka too gun shy on using DRS didn't use it when Head on 23
didn't use it when Kwajaja 77 both would have been out
Lucky umpires not raising finger but they could have reviewed

He used to live in Meadowbank

Since tea Sri Lanka gone totally negative
6 overs for 8 runs
Surround the batter with 3 or 4 close leg side fielders and pitch every ball a foot outside leg stump
Over after Over !
Umpires should have some rule to revert to about negative bowling

Not sure Usman getting a hundred is a good thing for the future. It has Warner written all over it. Warner had one decent knock inbetween mediocrity for the last two years. He averaged 30 in last 42 innings Usman had averaged 26 in last 20 innings before this score.

Yes he's the best player for spin and the spot makes sense of you want to win the series. But come on this test series against a park side was never going to be too much of a challenge.

Usman will be 39 when England come here and with his proficiency of going on the back foot all the time, the English bowlers next summer will feel right at home.

Usman and labuchagne in the team next summer doesn't sit well. If the same 4 bowlers are there too then think we are missing a trick this series.

And they dropped the new opening bat after two games for a number 5?
Sure Head is in form, but he is not a test match opener, and I think it showed.
I’ve read how some think the selectors have been good? Well those people must have some insight into their grand plan that I’m not privy to.

They are picking teams to win now BF. The side hold just about every trophy they possibly can, thats the point. The selectors watch a hell of a lot more international and domestic cricket than us and have changed their formula for playing in the subcontinent.

The rationale for dropping Konstas (who has never played in the subcontinent) and moving Head up the order (who was outstanding there in India) is sound because they aren't looking to develop at the moment, they want to win. We will see what happens with the 3 spinners, but you saw how ineffectual their pacer was yesterday.

I just think picking a guy and he succeeds and then gets dropped is a bad precedent
Agree Head is our most dynamic batman but keep in mind he should have been out for 23 yesterday and then Marnus 20 off 50 balls and was dropped early
Think Konstas could have bettered these efforts
Smith and Kwajaja did well yesterday because they used their feet forward and back .
To use your feet you need to have " no fear " which matches the kid
Why I say he succeeded ?
Scores of 60 ,8 ,23 22
Until his innings at the MCG most of our top 4 struggled against Bumrah
The kid comes in and actually rattles Bumrah ( an extremely rare feat)
Note then all our top 4 then get past 50

Can see where you're coming from Steve

Amazing mathematical coincidence yesterday
Head , Kwajaja and Smith all got 10 ( 4's) and 1 ( 6)
Difference was no of balls faced
Head 40 ,Smith 188 ,Kwajaja 210
Although Kwajaja overall strike rate better than Smiths 70 vs 55

Yeah head should stay at 5.

Not sure what the selectors are doing. They put in Boland because Hazelwood was injured and people said it was a masterstroke. Wouldn't of happened without an injury.

Starc averages 44 at the SCG and goes for plenty in the 5th test but the selectors stuck with him even though he averaged over 40 in that test.

Marsh played two tests two many in that series. Should of been dropped after Adelaide.

Australia one is what people will justify the selections with. To me it's more of a case of India being bad with their selections as well.

If they had Sami there and dumped the captain and tinkered abit more they would of won.

I hope next season. Our youngest player isn't 31.
