Cricket Season Thread

Congratulations to the GOAT of 6's, smashed for more sixes than any player in Test history and undoubtedly more to come as our selectors don't like to make changes unless forced upon them by injury or death.

Our bowling is as disappointing as our batting. Let’s hope it’s an early season aberration and we get back on track soon.
Even saving this test will prove a monumental challenge but it could be the wake up call our guys need for this summer.
But hats off to the Banga boys who have played extremely well for the first 2 days. They’ve certainly surprised me !

There is no early season with Test cricket. They play all year round. It’s like saying, we can’t win in England because the Ashes over there are in July. This is just what happens when batsmen have a dig against them. Not every country are like the Poms and bat like idiots.

Dad's army is showing it's age again, maybe this is the wake call we should have had last year.

What I meant was early season “ at home”, which is how I view the start of the cricket season, but that’s just an old fellas view!

I used to love cricket, to watch and play. I used to play in the local competition when I was in my teens.

The test matches and one dayers were enough for me. The old guard that had been there back then were guys like Thommo, Pascoe, Walters, Marsh, the Chapples, Hooksey, and of course the juggernaut that was the West Indies with Viv Richards, Joel Garner, Michael Holding, Clive Lloyd,, Andy Roberts & Co.

After that era moving into the era of Warney, Taylor, Clarke etc I started to lose interest. The start of the Big Bash was the final nail in my cricket coffin.

Now I just pine for the start of the next NRL season, scouring newspapers and the web (including this forum) for any news related to the club all off season, like some kind of junkie, hanging out for a fix.

Pathetic really 😞
