I think in ODIs you still had to build an innings ......T20s have caused for more problems in Test Cricket

In the modern game, 50 overs is a life time.

Very hard these days for young players to develop the skills to dig in and build an innings. Mainly due to the amount of limited over cricket and the lowering standard of shield cricket.

With the test players basically never playing shield anymore the young kids are getting a very soft introduction to 1st class cricket. Our test batting stocks are rock bottom. We desperately need to develop a rock style opener and a reliable no3
