There’s no erasing that stat. It was just painful to watch. It’s not his fault he should never have been picked. He’s never been at that level and it’s not like he was bashing the door down or even tapping on the window, with long form opening scores. To me it was another poor knee-jerk reaction by the selection panel bcoz their last terrible pick to open failed again. If they had of listened to @happy_tiger Renshaw would have been picked a year ago. Now I am wondering where Maddos head is at and how can they play him next game? Same as they ruined Konstas, and then I see Junior (who generally knows what he’s talking about) come out and say how good are the selectors?
And for context, this all started when David Warner declared he was going to retire in Sydney before the Ashes in England. Selectors should have had the balls then to sack him before England and plan for the future with Uzi still there to lead the way. Sorry went on a bit.

Don’t watch much shield cricket then?

Renshaw averaged about 50 and hit a few tons in his last shield season, and if you’d been watching the previous seasons you’d of noticed his steady incline prior and would have been calling for his inclusion into the Oz team before his wave of good form and not mid way through like the piss poor selection panel.
They look like tourists at the beach going for their first surf on one of those beginner boards, paddling madly after any wave of good form, only to be left in the wake.

Maddo hit a one day ton recently and the selectors think that equates to test opening form. 🤦

Made three 30+ scores in the ODIs, a century in Zimbabwe. I'd love to be that unlucky!

It’s not your job to be keeping abreast of the talent pool and when they may be hitting form, but it is the selectors job and my gripe is they are about a season behind where they should be.
I bet you can see the same thing in horses though very clearly.

Yeah if I was having a punt a draw would be favourite .....they were talking about the weather before the Test started
