Crowd figure

Both teams last week beat in a combined score of 98-4

Fans of both teams who turned up should be congratulated after last weeks rubbish performances.

Not surprised by this figure and the club wouldn't be either.
That's what happens when teams play c..p
I noticed the Shark fans are coming out in force, now that their team is playing good footy and winning games. Top of the ladder in fact.

Well just wait until you see the circus up here at Suncorp and the drongo supporters with 2 heads lols…..granted they will probably get 50 K (if you count heads)

I really fear for our future. Since 2000 we have had only a couple of successful years. We all know we have been a shambles as there have been numerous topics covering everything from home grounds, head office, coaches, boys club, paying overs - the list goes on.

I sit back and think how long can this last?

If we draw crowds of less than 10k regularly 20 years from now, what happens? I can't for the life of me, believe that the NRL will have clubs fully funded by television subsidies only to see empty stands at some grounds. If Sydney's population grows by 20% by that time and we still can't pull a crowd?

The day will come when Sydney teams will be culled, I have no doubt about that. We must start matching teams like the bulldogs, roosters, manly, parramatta, dragons, cronulla. We have to be in the top 3 Sydney teams to survive - that's my belief. And were are we now?

A crowd of just over 8,000? Sad really

Nailed it Mama…I remember in '05 a game late in the season against the Cowboys..the house full sign went up with close on 20K in attendence...similar in 10/11 crowds were up...saw people at games that I hadn't seen in years with the price tags still attached to their new jersey's...

The. Club has done more this year in promoting gdames than it has for a while...i'll tell you to the family areas like the face painting and Ferris Wheel were packed with kids all day...if it encourages them to nag their parents to go to the footy again it is a good thing....

Didn't we get 20k last week at Homebush? It's a pity nobody goes there.
Cue the excuses.

Yeah 17000 dogs fans, Why don't we play the Titans there and see what the crowd figures are.

It wouldn't be as low as yesterday's game and we wouldn't lose money. We'd be up $100k.
The penny will drop eventually.

Hmmm, I drove down from the Hunter Valley for this game. Maybe I should have caught the Knights supporters bus. I also was one of the very few who went out to watch the Magpies get flogged year in, year out. I guess that makes me a Wests Tigers tragic but if you want crowds, you have to give people the prospect of at least a competitive game. Stick with them everybody, better times are coming.

At the game I was actually surprised with the figure they posted. The part of the western stand that I was in was sparsely populated and the northern hill was basically empty. I actually thought the crowd was only about 5000\. If they did get just under 9000 for a Saturday afternoon game between teams 14 and 16, it think they would be pleased with that.

Let me just say that in general I believe we should play more games at ANZ.

However virtually 9k yesterday given
a. It was last playing 3rd last and both coming off a flogging
b. Newcastle is an out of Sydney team and you don't get away supporters
c. It was a saturday afternoon which is other then Monday nights the hardest to draw a crowd statistically.

Given those factors and that it was in Cambelltown which means very few supporters from inner west (thats reality and the same thing at Leichardt for supporters from Campbeltown- hence support for ANZ) then 9k was a good crowd. The same time last year in ROund 11 we took on the Cowboys who were one of the form teams and only got 8.2k so comparably a solid crowd given the other issues

Saturday games are a non event. Just there for Fox.

The NRL can't have it both ways. If you let TV run the show, you can't then blame the clubs for not getting numbers. Same as Monday nights being non events.

Once your club cops one of these games in the wilderness, or against an out of town club you are pushing …...... hill.

Take that into account and then if you are not playing well....

To get 9000 in our position, Saturday arvo and out of town team - we did well.
