Crowd on Friday night

Funny how one innocent question about the crowd and the usual suspects can't resist at coming in with their mandatory, sly little cheap shots

And people say the only people who whinge and live in the past are those from the Wests side :unamused:

Majority…not "only".

Both sides play a part, and both sides need to become one. Simple thread turned into hate again.

lol…....still filling the water bottles at Shamrocks guru?

Did you go last week out to Cambo?
I bet you didnt, you wouldnt have waited a week to bag the crowd if you had.

Simon whinged to all and sundry about how much coin he wouldve had to spend getting to Cambo…...spend a few bob the other night simon???
$30 entry?
$30 piss?
$20 for a feed?
$20 for fares....100 clams?

What a couple of hypocrites you are....bagging crowds you havent even been to yourself

Great ground. And so is Campbelltown when given half a chance.
Some people are stuck in this Mac Vs PC mindset.

Why can we just grow a pair and be happy to have to great grounds like the Dragons.

Hehehe. Would be funny to see a mock ad of that. "I'm Campbo. And I'm Leichhardt." But then I guess it would quickly devolve into the crap we see on threads such as this…

Difficulty dealing with the facts? Create all the smokescreens and diversions u like, the Campbelltown crowd was appalling. The reason? Likely a combination of indifference, poor connection with the community and conditional loyalty.

Nothing to do with Wests, Leichhardt, a sense of division or any other self fulfilling prophecies. The concern is only amplified by the fact this is one of the country's major growth corridors. The membership numbers only confirm that the Tigers have very real issues with the area

Yep,NRLC will be having a good look at it in the future, similar scenario/problems on the Central Coast, majority of locals want a team in the NRL but not necessarily a Team wearing Red/Black & called the Bears being fostered on them.

God the balmain trolls are in full force with this thread. A quick flick through wiki will show historically the crowds arnt that much different between the two ground. Especially if you take into account the team we are Vs'ing, time played and what happened the week previous. But don't let that get in the way of a good old Maggie bashing.

Anyways kids, get in as much LO as you can over the next couple of years cause the sun is definitely sinking on that run down rectangle.

My bet is before they knock it down to build town houses wests will auction off all the seats from the grandstands for charity. You will be able to buy a little piece of LO for your very own lounge room. Sweet! You can even invite your mates around and chuck beer cans at each other while you watch wests play in tv at Cambo. Good times ahead!

LOL - i love the way you merged a couple of different topics together - i was thinking of asking the moderators to do the same with all " the mine's bigger than yours" topics on the forum so we could have a super [This word has been automatically removed] fest topic that i could read on rainy days.

wonder if the irony was deliberate…..

starting with the "Balmain trolls" before a huge tirade....if deliberate kudos

I love leichhardt, but only a few times a year....The surburban grounds have their charm, and I like the atomsphere and nostaliga, but the viewing from the hill isnt great and I hate the whole sit down/stand up dilema, some areas have to sit down, others wont, means missing chunks of the field. Sometimes I leave thiknig what a ground, great atomsphere and other times I think there is only so long before we move to stadiums full time.

I think the infighting isn't so much balmain tigers vs wests magpies, it is more north-south. Fact is more fans of most teams live all over the city so centrally located stadiums make more sense, hence the 8-4 split. But LO/SFS are still skewed to the east side, as CO is skewed to the south west side. ANZ makes the most sense geographically but the stadium is poor.

The different supporter bases is why we play at multiple grounds, and formerly included ANZ over SFS, the swap being because of a better income deal (hence the great disappointment of low crowds).

If the club were thinking about cheaper memberships and a move to ANZ, it would be crowds like CO on sunday that would reinforce the idea to move, and crowds like friday at LO to stay. Generally speaking crowds at either ground are similar all things being equal, but if the current CO trend continues then we could see no WT games there at all.

A lot of this is a self fulfilling prophecy.

Yeah….that ain't going to happen

Lulz. " current trend"

Yup, if Cambo continues to draw 100's of less spectators to games over a year I think the smart thing to do will be to write the area off, and associated fan base completely.

Seriously, people need to fink b4 dey post.

Of course it takes more shitty crowds for it to be a proper statistical trend and there are multiple factors to be considered (opposition, prior week, cost of admission) but really when the club makes the next stadium deal they'd look at that CO crowd (and the LO vs Storm last year) and look at the fixed cost and variable cost at each venue. I doubt the result would be 6/6 split. In future we'd see all games vs St George, Bulldogs, Parra, Souths and Roosters at SFS/ANZ. Perhaps Manly, Sharks and Panthers games too. If LO and CSS got 20k crowds we'd probably see the same thing occur anyway (unless a new stadium gets built).

It's equally as foolish to say we'd be playing everything out at CSS as one bad crowd is a trend. Fact is we'd be more likely to play more games at ANZ/SFS under either situation.

I dont think the club calls the shots on how many games they play at their pseudo home ground….they may not want more than 4 per year
