Crowd

The offical crowd last night was 10, 006 or something similar. When I looked around I thought that was generous. To start the season which such a small crowd has to be a concern for the club especially if we don’t start winning. I can see some tiny crowds in the future.

Hearing next week is close to a sell out....

It's pretty simple when it comes to entertainment in sports. Win and they will come. Get a consistent home venue and they will come. Recruit some players that are exciting to watch and that have talent and they will come. We have none of the above.
You left out "if you build it they will come", though on a serious note, if we had a decent actual home stadium I am certain that it will increase both overall crowds and corporate involvement.

They were so annoying and they clearly didn’t get what they were there for. Banging just whenever they felt like it
They‘ll play a role in keeping people away. I’m sure a few would have walked out of the ground put off by that. They were beating them when nothing would be be happening, like when we’d start a set coming off our own line

Seemed to be a fair bit of noise and atmosphere.. or are Fox still piping in fake crowd noise post covid for the TV effect..

One of the issues was a lack of trains from Central. My Dad and I got stuck at Central from 18:00 to 19:15; after the Parramatta train finally arrived about 18:55 it sat on the platform for 20 minutes waiting for the drivers to change over.

We gave up went home, we would have arrived at half-time. Platform was full of football supporters.

Prior to this there were no trains for about 45 mins, then 3 trains in 15 minutes. That means 3 trains, clustered together, in the 2 hours prior to kickoff.

The trains were having some kind of issue with staffing, I am going to guess COVID.

Thanks for that. It makes sense as I thought it was really low for a round 1 game. I would have gone home as well.

That's horrible.

Awful planning from all involved for first game of the season.

The light rail can't come quick enough.

I dunno I don't usually catch public transport but I think the whole system is a mess after the flooding then this new COVID explosion. As far as I could tell every line was having issues, the PA was constantly on about delayed trains and issues on other lines.

I also waited for the LR Dulwich Hill line after the match and the carriage never came for Central-bound traffic, the sign just said "due in 24 minutes" without changing for about 30 mins. They are supposed to be every 15 mins until 11pm.

I thought Dulwich Hill LR was closed 3 months ago, replaced by busses?

Got no clue anymore, public transport is going through a transition phase, let's hope it doesn't last as long as our transition phase.

No they've moved some of the L2 and L3 trams over.
