Crowds

Tony 33,wish I was there I can't stand dirty low life supporters that don't respect mother or fathers taking kids to the footy…I would of punched the crap out of him and told him to respect who the children are ....they are our future,as well as the parents bringing the kids and paying good money to help pay the wages..no time for disrespect,I've done it before, wouldn't hesitate to do it again, but that's just me.....

Because bashing the crap out of someone is such a better look - idiot

Look no one likes people getting abused but a bit of banter and screaming is all good as long as its not threatening. If they don't want drunk people at the footy then don't take the millions in sponsorship.

I was there last night and the dogs supporters were fine, loud and a bit obnoxious when they won but I've got no problem with that

Boonboon2,don't disrespect what I say by calling me an idiot,I refer to the time I was at ANZ stadium 3years ago and a mum with 2 boys 5&7 was spat at and abused because the children wore Tigers gear..you might be the soft type that would walk away I didn't..

Call me all you like but children are innocent and don't need to be spat at because they want to support our team…...if you met me you would be quite surprised how nice a person Iam...

Its definitely a game I avoid unless it is at Leichardt, but cant remember the last time that has happened. I can be a bit verbally, re -active to obnoxious supporters so for my own safety and to save my kids from embarrassment that is one game I watch at home.

The dogs fans are certainly better behaved than they were in the early to mid 2000s.
The biggest surprise with the crowd last night was that tigers vs bulldogs drew 20,000, whilst parra and souths only drew 15,000

I love how these low crowds are a conspiracy…i have fox, i watch every game at home for free.

I hate ANZ and Cambo is as close to Mars for me.

TV all the way! Beers are a 1.60 at my place. A block of 30 new 50 bucks!

True tiger is quite a popular poster on here and forever is a voice of logic and reason.I feel its quite "idiotic" of you Boonboon to label True Tiger an "idiot". It quite clearly isnt banter when you go on and on and reduce a 7 year old to tears but rather threatening.I mean who threatens the life out of a random 7 year old at the footy that is only guilty of wearing a different teams jersey to you.If I was the father I get upset and protect my boy.If Im not a relative of the boy but I witness that I offer that idiot fan heckling the 7 year old to shut up this moment or we will go outside and I will make him look like a 7 year old.

if the NRL are wanting mums, dads and families to go to the footy then scenarios like this will continue to drive more people away. imagine other families that saw it or the people this father will tell about this.

they may not happen as often as we think but it's a big negative to the game.

The NRL as a product has lost a lot of its appeal. All teams seem to play the same power game, based on plenty of one out hit ups, get to the last and bomb away. The Brooks/Tedesco combination is what the game needs plenty of, skill, speed and excitement, but the coaches will now be working out plans to nullify them. The game is now based on defense and possession

I think it's losing its appeal a bit due to the salary cap. You look at some of the Rosters out there and compare them to others and it's just impossible for there not to be rorting going on

Biggest problem with the salary cap is the average fans complete lack of understanding of how it actually works.

I admit that I don't know all the mechanics of how the salary cap works, but to me, it appears that it's the back room TPAs that weaken the effect of the salary cap, as an equalizer, practically making it null and void.

TPA's most definately having an adverse effect on the salary cap as an equaliser. But it is nowhere near that simple, some clubs are much better at managing the cap then others. We for example have been terrible at the management of the cap and that is the reason we fielded our youngest ever side on Friday night. Other aspects that hurt the salary cap as an equalizer are that some clubs are more desirable than others for a player to play for. A successful side is always goiing to be able to retain and attract players for less money than others. One team cities will also be at an advantage because their is less competition for income outside of football, Brisbane is at a huge advantage here.

Now look where the Tigers sit on in comparison to all those factors and it is easy to see why we have trouble attracting players, we have to pay overs, which in the past has led to us making stupid decisions in regards to the management of the cap, signing players to massively backloaded contracts is an example of that.

All that being said, the salary cap still acts as a talent equaliser, most clubs get their time in the sun and there hasnt been back to back winners since the early 90's.

Sadly, I have to agree.
Roosters are now looking to sign Carney. Ok some will say that maloney will leave or they'll sell a couple of others but we seem to have to pay a % of player contracts, why don't they?

It is not a level playing field. Never has been. Never will be.
Until the NRL treats every club equally, in all things, it will stay uneven.

Politis wields enormous influence. So to does gladiator Crowe. Throw in News Corp teams and Thoroughbred Broncos. ???
