Crowe wants Sheens at Souths

Just because we're all over the hangover of missing the finals doesn't mean sheens gets away scot free as usual.

He should be replaced, as long as there is someone decent to replace him with.

We have a good side, that have for the most part played together.. Id much rather have a new coach in now with the talent we have rather then letting sheens stay until 2011/12 when some of our key players move on and then we have to start rebuilding the club in the dark times (roosters to mind anyone?)

The talent we have dont you think Sheens has built this team.If it wasnt for sheens we probably wouldnt know these kids like you do now.

Sheens recognises talent second to none and players wanna play under him.

Oh well we will see.

Am I the only one here worried that if Sheens leaves we will be sadled with Royce? After all do things on the cheap it's the Wests Tigers way

i thought sheens would take his love child royce with him.

Yes sheens has sure built these players up, just like his one final appearance in 10? 12 years.
Top notch coaching if u ask me.

Your responsible for your own actions.. Making the finals once in 10/12 years doesnt really cut it champ.

Mate I'm not defending Sheens. Long way from it. My only problem is if Sheens leaves everyone nominates who will replace him. On the old website someone even mentioned Bennett. For some reason I just get the feeling this club won't sack anyone so if the gnome is still here…...cheap option

Souths like us finished the season pretty strong, with Ross,Taylor and possible Burgess to join them they are also in for a good year come 2010, so they would be a attractive proposition for any coach. Also I suspect the money would be attractive also. As for Sheens, he is under contract and the only way out is by mutual consent. If we don't give him the okay, no amount of money can buy his way free. Of course the board may see this as a way to fast track plans for 2011 and beyond and get some money in the bank at the same time. The old saying business is business

I've been talking along the same lines for ages now. Believe me when I say this if we let Tim Sheens go now, my grand kids will be around to witness a Wests Tigers 2nd grand final. Remember, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

or crowe offers a hefty sum to WT for letting him go (as well as paying his last year out or whatever to us)

i just hope if it happens.. it happens before the end of this year, so when they get back into it we know where we stand.. not be in a brian smith esque situation!

Steve Folkes for mine.

You are clutching at straws. Obviously you are not a fan of Sheens, but Steve Folkes is your best available replacement?

You have to do better than that.

1 premiership and 8 finals appearences in 11 years at the dogs (one of those years they missed was because they were stripped of all competition points). id dare say only wayne bennent has a better strike rate then that mate, id be all for folkes replacing sheens if it came to that.

sheens has 1 premiership 1 finals appearence in 7 years here, so i fail to see why you think folkes would be a bad coach for this club

Let me ask you guys this, if Brian Smith became available, would you prefer he coached the Tigers or would you rather keep Tim Sheens?

Tim Sheens.

Solely based on the fact that : a🙂 he won't do a runner mid-season
and b🙂 won't finals choke like Smith based teams

As critical as we have been of him, Im prepared to suffer a couple more years of mediocrity, than see him go to those GRUBS! what worries me if he goes there, who will follow him…..I would be physically sick seeing Benji, Robbie or Lawrence in a red and green jumper

smith, no way.

smith, panthers coach or royce i would hang myself if they got the postion should sheens leave.

Well if your gunna go back 10 years lets go back twenty.

If you take his tenure at the cowboys out his win percentage would be higher.

This is not directed to just izotope, it's directed to all those who want Tim Sheens gone now. Just think of this, if someone as influential as Nick Politis can virtually hand pick any coach he wants, why would he go for Brian Smith if he could go after anyone else? If he's the best option that's available at the moment and some of you guys don't want him, what chances have the Wests Tigers got to snag someone better than Brian Smith?
