I've been on this forum a few years now, and for the entire time there have been repeated calls from many members that we need to change our culture. Become tougher, become more accountable etc etc etc.
Now we have a CEO and coach who both believe that this is necessary as well and appear as if they are actually going to try and do something about it. And what do we get on here - some of the same people who have been calling for change, dumping on the club's efforts.
Now you may not agree with the way they are choosing to go about it but for sure and certain, you should at least give them kudos for having a dig!

Call it what you want, the current term is culture, but the feel of a place is incredibly important to all aspects of an organisation.

If people like where they are, and are happy they perform better. How to create an environment that people are happy about is tougher to achieve, but there is loads of analysis that identifies certain aspects of an organisation that has it members happier and performing better.

Would anyone deny Apple has a culture or in rugby league, Manly, they have a very identifiable "us against them" brotherhood that is very real.

Creating an environment that fosters performance is extremely important, and it is that, which people are referring to when they talk about culture.

Putting work into controlling that culture is smart.

Fostering a culture that the employees are proud of and enacting efficient and effective change management practices are key drivers in the resurrection of any organisation…it has been proven time and again!

Some of you scoff at this article and it's "buzz words". That is a far too simplistic and outright ignorant appraisal of what this clubs management are trying to do. This is a positive undertaking and I for one am happy to see these techniques introduced.
