Imagine the meltdown if he came back to another club

Doesn't state who the other two clubs are…but realistically why would he want to come here

Why wouldn't he want to come here?
We are on the rebuild with an experienced coach at the helm. We are just a couple of players off from being a real force in the near future. His signing is vital for next year, possibly one of our more significant targets as he brings real threat in attack and in the air.

Don't let our past tarnish our future, we won't be the same Tigers of 2013-2017 next year.

Agree that he would be a very important signing.
Hope we can secure his services.
Very talented player.

Unfortunately we are being judged by our past…and sadly most players see other clubs that are rebuilding as better options

Most players? The same 11 players that we've signed already?

Actually no. We've signed Reynolds, Packer and Matulino who are all top tier players.

Have we ever recruited better players than Matulino, Packer, Reynolds, McQueen . Most players we have had were not known before we signed them ie Ellis, Tapau, JAC, Austin. I am surprised how a supposed basket case can attract talent with some good under the radar signings like Milne, Tui etc. We need forwards in a hurry but overall we have done better than I ever expected with recruitment.

"Why wouldn't he want to come to the tigers"? Is that a serious question? How many more years of failure will it take before you realise we are, and will generally be - A bottom 3 club. So many better clubs that are also "rebuilding" to choose from…
Even with our new signings we are still average....

If the Rebels are the team to fold then is it possible that Reece Hodge will be off contract - can kick 70 m goals. Now that would be a great choice - Curtis Rona if it is the Force or Reece if it is the Rebels.

Ivan get that cheque book out for Reece if it is the Rebels.

Yeah - He'd be a great addition to our already strong state cup team next year…..

Every club has been in the stage that we are in. I find it nonsensical that you truly believe we will always be a bottom 3 club. We have had 4 or 5 years of continual failure, but not once in those years have we had a rebuild of this stature. I doubt you could count those years as "rebuilds". We brought in two inexperienced coaches, and placed our hopes upon the backs of inexperienced players and no wonder we ended up as a bottom 3 club. Whilst I can not guarantee a top 8 finish next season, we are building towards something along the lines.

The Eels suffered a series of failed seasons (with more wooden spoons in around 3 seasons than we've had in our history), but they're not "generally" a bottom 3 club no longer. What kind of flawed logic do you think by? Of the clubs that are rebuilding, which do you think seem more appealing? The Knights? Oh, they're going heaps good. What about the Rabbits? Who else is rebuilding? The Dogs definitely aren't, they're 13th and barely have any cap space.

How about you stop supporting a "generally bottom 3-placing club".

Well said busdriver. I do not know why some people on here support the Weststigers. All they ever do is drop crap on them from a great height.

The boofhead above obviously did not see todays performance of Eisenhuth and Twal.

Ignore him.

If he becomes available , expect that number to increase if not in real terms but artificially by his manager . However with a lot of clubs allegedly already in cap trouble for 2018 then we have a decent chance of doing the deal .

You should just go away and not be a Tigers fan. We can win the comp. We can be one of the top teams in the comp.

Cleary must be selling them an amazing picture of our future plans/direction/systems etc which is fantastic….

We may have been a bottom 3 club for a few years....like most teams....but these players have a chance to do something pretty sweet at the tigers. Who wouldn't want to be a part of something like that?

It seems with who we are getting, 1st graders that we have and young guys pushing for places, there will be genuine competition for 1st grade spots. That alone will be a huge boost for the club.

With this vision that Cleary is selling to the players, surely management must be peddling it to the sponsors as well so fingers crossed that eases some of the financial pressure the club is under.

A lot of people at the club/coming to the club/looking at sponsoring the club have a lot to gain if this works out. At this stage apart from a few blips things seem to be turning around, and lucky us get to finally watch our team become competitive regularly again...I for one am looking forward to it....

Just my opinion of course......

Is it really a good idea to be drinking so heavily on a Sunday?

We have made the top 8 less than any other team in the NRL since our merger… But don't let the facts get in the way of your blind delusion. You keep telling yourself that we have been going ok.... We have signed some forwards who are good players but they arn't the type of players that turn a perennial failure of a team into a top 4 team.
When will the Tigers learn that to make the top 4 you need to buy the best players...
Suli, Marsters, Fonua, Zelezniak, Milne, Lolohea, & Thompson are in any top 8 team Reserve Graders..... I rate Suli but people on this board seem to think he will save us. For some reason the deluded masses on here think these signings will revolutionise the Tigers and lift us to a top 8 team.
We are yet to sign a State of Origin level game breaker in the backs.... Surely we will have the slowest backline in the NRL next year? But thats all good - The deluded have become so use to failure its just part of the parcel now. Don't worry about voicing your opinion - There is always next year as this year is just a "rebuilding" year.....
If this year is a "rebuilding" year why are we now still playing Woods, Tedesco, Seumanufagai, & Naiqama. We once again have 0 chance of making the 8 so lets start blooding a few younger players. This season has been dead for weeks now yet we persist to play the players that the same deluded masses referred to as our "saviours" for years... Now they have left us... Wonder why????? Because we will be average at best for many years to come... Thats why.
The major difference between the Tigers fans and fans of teams that consistently make the 4 is that the tigers fans accept failure....

I don't think that he's been drinking, more like sucking on a few cases of lemons.

We've been rebuilding for 6 years now - But its all good…
2012 - 10th
2013 - 15th (2nd last)
2014 - 13th (4th last)
2015 - 15th (2nd last)
2016 - 15th (2nd last)
2017 - 15th (2nd last)
2018 - Top 6 - Off the back of Matalino and Packer Suli, Masters, & Reynolds will change it all..
One positive for next year is our State Cup team will be a top 6 team... Plenty of depth with fringe 1st graders next year.
