If Pascoe were to answer those via twitter..he would be dumber than Grant Mayer…

Where did you read he should answer these questions via twitter?…..

Well Mick seems to have a line of communication on twitter…you could email him yourself I guess tigerap..cut out the middle man...

fyi…Pascoe only responds to Tweets not email....and fortunately I don't have a twitter account...besides I'm sure Mick can speak for himself on this can't he...?.

I'm going to suggest it is extremely unlikely Rona will be here next year. I wouldn't be leaving the porch light on…

So to me that's code for 'Rona has signed with the Sharks!'

I think you're reading much into that! I doubt he'll play league next year. That's a personal opinion.

Any other signing news.

I wouldn't be expecting any more big names.

Thanks Yoss but this is what I don't get - each team needs to spend 95% of the cap which is estimated to be $9.4m in 2018\. That means a spend of $8.93 million.

Whilst our squad is much more balanced, surely we aren't spending that money? Can only imagine we must be front loading some contracts to attract some big fish for the 2019 season.

I don't think that there are any left unless we go to union and I think it'll be hard to get anyone from union as they probably get paid more money.

Thanks for the updates though.

Keep in mind there is a minimum salary. So 5 blokes on minimum wage is 500k.

600k under the new deal as min is 120k.

What Cleary has done though is tried to build a consistent squad so player 30 is much closer to player 1 then the current squad which fell away massively after the top 20 - so we are spending less at the top end but more across the board which I like because when you have injuries you don't go to a Lovett or a Joel Edwards or when you loose a centre you don't have an 18yr old as your only choice. Instead of Littlejohn you have Benji Marshall as your backup in the halves. Not only injuries but it means you can work the team harder and risk some injuries because your depth is great, it means you dont rush blokes back from injury, etc

Surely if we aren't signing anyone else of note next year we must be front ending some contracts? After all, we were purportedly offering Connor Watson good money and he didn't sign on. Where has that money gone? There hasn't been any signings of note since that time.

Watson signed with the knights because he was guaranteed to play Five Eight something we couldn't promise.

I might be wrong, but i have a feeling we will sign Rona.

I'm with you on that feeling, just think it will happen. Justin didn't say it wasn't happening the other day and Moley also said it was still a chance. it would top off the new backline signings nicely.

Thanks for sharing this tweet Mick…I hope Pascoe fills up the bus...IMO we don't need to many more passengers....Rona and an established second rower.....

Actually Mick, As you have a reliable line of communication to Pascoe, can you please run this idea past him….

many WT Fans really enjoyed the Q&A sessions with Pascoe and Cleary that was broadcast on WT TV...It would be great if they did an end of season WT TV broadcast covering:

1) Season 2017 in review including how the club went off field (i.e. financially)
2) Discuss all our new recruits and re signings and where and how Cleary sees them contributing to our 2018 side
3) What are the areas Cleary will be focusing on during the pre-season
4) What will be the coaching makeup be in 2018
5) What are the teams realistic goals in 2018 (top 8 or top 4)?
7) Update on the proposed Centre of Excellence and the realistic chances of getting off the ground.

I'm sure many, like me, are excited at our prospects for 2018 and already can't wait for March to come around...getting the clubs insights on these 7 topics would be fantastic for WT fan/member engagement....just a suggestion....,

Rona or Brett Morris would be the icing on the cake for our recruitment.

The morris boys are looking for a long term pension.if we were lucky we could get maybe 1 decent year from him the problem is he wont sign for 1 year.So no thanks ESL is a far better option for him.
