Curtis Rona

I believe Rona has a contract with the ARU - he will be "shipped" to other Super Rugby side I believe unfortunately. No source just a gut feel.

That's what I think too

The ARU will have plenty of trouble finding spots for the force players. I think they will be happy if any of them ask for a release.

With the salary cap to be setup at 9.40m it is effectively 314k per top 30 player. Based on our reported contracts per player Cleary has recruited and managed player valuations well. We should also have another 300k available over the 9.1m budgeted.

Also finding the money to honour contracts may be an issue. For Rona, it means a move to one of the eastern states in any outcome in RU.

Having Rona next year would be a huge boost to the side but, he wouldn't define our season. We've already got some decent players in that position so, I'm not to fussed if we don't get him.

Debuting for the Wallabies Saturday. That pay day would be juicy

In 2013 the test money got dropped to $10k for the following two years. I'd be interested to know how much they pay now.

Ive read a few articles on him saying family in Perth was the main reason he went to rugby.

The concession by the Wallabies to accept a cut in Test payments by $3100 per match in their new collective bargaining agreement has been lauded by their union and the Australian Rugby Union as a sign of goodwill to help the code get back on its feet financially.

But Rugby Union Players' Association chief executive Greg Harris said that with the short-term ''pain'' there was still long-term ''gain'' in the CBA, which took three years to negotiate before it was unveiled on Wednesday.

There was far more to the CBA than a cut in Test fees from $13,100 in 2013 to $10,000 for all players in 2014 and 2015, with the figure to remain in 2016 and 2017 for Wallabies on ARU ''top-up'' contracts, while non-contracted players will receive $12,000 per Test.

Interesting that (according to Ch 9) Ivan Cleary was at Wallabies training today talking to Michael Cheika. Probably just coincidence…

Coincidence? I don't think so. Why would Cleary be at the Wallabies training at all if he didn't have some sort of agenda?

They were training at Concord.

Unfortunately Rona said today that he was likely to be playing union next year. Maybe he just said that as he is turning out for the Woubles.
