Is it just me or does manly gear not suit him?

Thankful that Sirro Snr was never enticed to stoop so low as to being seen in Manly outfit during his playing days.
Good luck to Curtis, never showed much in his games for WT, you can't keep waiting and hoping for a bloke to fulfil his potential forever. His time had definitely come.
Hopefully we are now starting to become a bit more ruthless as a club, **if someone doesn't show any progression in 2 seasons then hopefully they will be shown the door**.

If that was the case the coach would be gone as well.

If the sole gauge of a coaches progression is where his team finishes on the ladder then JT has progressed from 2015 to this season.
Sirro has stagnated from day one unfortunately.

Bye Curtis. Hope Manly extracts something consistent out of him. Barrett is a worse coach than Taylor so I'd wager he's rooted.

WRONG - the coach did show progression. Try again at the end of next year.

Bit sad to see him go. Hope he shows regular form in the future, unfortunately it wont be for the Tigers. I am not convinced ET or Alioa are much better than him , if at all

I can't believe that Manly are trotting them out in their colours already when it's only just become official that the Tigers have released him, maybe a career move will kick start his career, but with Manly!!!!.

IMO ET is far superior to Sirro…...makes 40+ tackles a game, much better ball playing and works his arse off for the team every time he takes the field unlike Sirro's half-hearted performances. Aloiai had a fairly decent year for his first full year in 1st grade also.
Out of those 3 players we got rid of the correct one.

Sirro showed his work ethic when he took up his 2018 option not long after getting dropped. Better to lock in a payday than to work hard and prove you deserve a cotract that reflects the value of a rep player.

Lovett looked twice the footballer than he did when playing in city colours.

I wonder if Marty T can show Siro how to spend a bulk of the season suspended.

He played 20 games, and was generally pretty good.

OK but Big Red used to get crucified for turnouts like that. Also Big Marty was super lucky to only miss one match for that late shot on Bird.

I rate Marty but he was probably even more of a loose cannon / cheap shot merchant 2016 than in previous years, esp. because Manly lost a lot and the frustrations got up.

Will play Origin in 2017…

Guaranteed?

Bozo puts clauses in contracts

**Bozo's gone as far as NSW is concerned he retired ..**.., but if you like you can leave him there until he draws his last breathe on this Planet your more than welcome

I was wondering what was going on in this Thread,he stood down from State duties when he took up(officially) the advisory role with Manly.
I think Manly will be good for young Sirro.,fresh start, its probably his last chance to carve out a worthwhile NRL career and he and his Father know it.

I think climbing out of his fathers Balmain shadow will help but I'm not sure that it will be a career kick starter

Unless they slim him down or can getting him moving more freely , his biggest fault in his game will remain, he couldn't dint tissue paper

It will be a while before he turns out in a Manly jersey, you don't get over a heart transplant in 5 minutes, if only he had the heart of Liam Fulton

So another good player departs.Cannot wait till end 2017 for a coach that has integrity and honesty, not barrogance and incomptence! :sign: :deadhorse: l

Your first post in 2 years on this forum was hardly worth the wait. It was the right decision by the club. Sironen was taking up unnecessary cap space and quite simply not up to FG. He's lazy and not what you want in a backrower.

That is funny Willow.

Good decision for both Parties. Freeing up some decent funds now should allow our Tigers to keep those we want. ie. Teddy, Broses, Woods and a swag of juniors.

If the money from Curtis only goes to retaining Taylor then it is wasted imo. Taylor is a great player and it was in our best interest to retain him but if it means moving on two players (who probably needed to be moved on) and not being able to is that money to sign anyone else the. We are paying him too much.

They may have freed up some cap space, but having cap space is only half the battle, you have to convince these kids that the Weststigers is the place to be, you also have to get close to the offers that will come their way and there will be plenty of them

There's always something happening behind closed doors

There is drama surrounding Curtis Sironen's decision to leave Wests Tigers for Manly.

Privately, Sironen feels he was pushed out of the club - albeit he was officially released - and treated poorly.

Even Wests Tigers team-mates were filthy at how Sironen was treated.

Sironen, to his credit, bit his lip and refused to have a departing shot at Wests Tigers coach Jason Taylor.

Saint Siro..

Paul Sironen said it best. He needs a Cattle Prod and the move would do him wonders. He also alluded to his skill set being utilised at Manly. Barrett stated he is an edge backrower with skills. I think he simply did not suit our system and it's a good release. He will flourish at Manly and make WT look bad but the reality is he has done nothing at WT so it's a win win.
