Curtis sironen

Gasnier? Grothe? Sattler? Young? There's probably a heap more.

Siro is a solid player, time will tell but geez if sunday is any indication to what he can provide in first grade then he looks the goods.

Talking of missed tackles who missed Tamou

It looks like Farah but the vision isn't 100% clear

The late Gil MacDougall and Adam MacDougall Handy father and son combination

Richie Twist and Jason Twist Not so handy Father and Son combination

Surprised at the hype around him (not really)

Aside from missing a tackle on thurston didn't really notice him.

tbh i can't say i noticed him either

Didn't watch the game then?? He put on some great hits, ran some good lines hitting two holes and would've scored off one if Benji hadn't propelled the ball forward to him. And if you still didn't notice him then that's almost the point … that he fitted in so effortlessly he just looked like part of the team.

Hopefully we can build a settled halves combo now. I thought he did well but I hope Sheens takes it easy with him. Remember all those injuries Benji had early in his career? Would hate to see the same thing happen to Curtis, although his body looks much more mature than Benji at the same age.

Jesus, can we get this quote tag problem fixed?

Usually I'm a bit of a skeptic about 'sons-of-legends'. They're all coaching and no natural ability. Mitchell Pearce is a perfect example. Mortimer was a flop, even Ray Warren's kid had a go, the rest have gone onto become unremarkable. They don't usually last but I have a good feeling about this one.

Pearce & Mortimer have done what very few do….make first grade, Pearce repping.
Bit much to call them flops.

Agree, Mortimer won rookie of the year and Pearce has played half a dozen origins, flops is very harsh.

I think the problem is that they are constantly compared to their famous fathers, and when you are the son (or nephew) of legend it is a fairly high bar, that very few can match.

In many ways the weight of the famous name is a burden rather than a help

Yeah it was Farah. I think it was a combination of Tamou's surprising turn of speed and Robbie's tiredness. He pretty much went around Farah who had to almost dive to make his attempt (which was a very tried looking effort). Robbie put his hand up to the miss in his post-match comments.

As Bon said, I think i'll wait till i see him a couple more times before judging him. And no, i didn't notice him all that much, despite what you pointed out

Its not that he was super spectacular, and scored a triple etc.

It was just more the ability to step straight into the game and look totally at home playing 1st grade, he made some good plays.

Not since Lawrence have I seen a Tiger junior step into 1st grade and look like he belongs. Its an encouraging sign, thats all.

But like others, we don't want to pile on the pressure so soon.
