Why would you want to live in Sydney

Close to Wests Tigers..

Ok but that's the only reason

No Irakandji and I'd be retiring up. There

Are you saying Cairns is a retirement Village
?

Anyone else having to do the work from home thing from now on?

How are you managing separating home time and work time?
I’ve been trying to do my regular morning routine but there’s no natural transition without the travel, same in the afternoon. It’s more like ‘okay I’ll start now’ and ‘that’s enough, pack it up’.

Have worked from home a bit the last couple of years.

Try to keep your routine as much as possible, I try to log in when I'd normally arrive, take lunch around the right time and log off at finish time. I struggle with logging off but I'm good at having boundaries the rest of the day.

I do other little things, get out of your PJs, plan the day like you normally would (set deadlines for yourself if it helps.) Try to have video calls where you can actually talk and see ppl, not just email.

Hardest thing is keeping little kids at bay, although my daughter won't bring me her frozen coloring book after I drew a tigers jersey on Anna, so that might help.

I have both my kids home. Yr 7 and 9 in hogh school. Been pretty regimented start at 9 recess at recess etc. All work online. Group chat with teachers.
There was only 2 kids at school in yr 9 on Tuesday the rest at home.
I've even been going with them for runs walk and kicking footy during sports and pe lesson times. Figure need to keep them in the groove especially if it carries on next term

Thanks for the advice. Definitely getting up and dressed and ready for the day. My job involves a fair bit of going in and out of the office so that has been hard to adjust to just being in the one spot. Have written a bit of a structured plan for tomorrow with breaks and walks built in so that I feel a little more like I’m doing my regular movements. Unfortunately most people I need to contact are principals of schools so they are a bit busy with other stuff at the moment.

Agreed balancing the kid and work is hard. When he’s at home it’s constant knocking on the door to help him with things or play a game. Lucky he can still attend day care at the moment but I do t think that will last much longer.

Ok but that's the only reason

Rather be sodomised by a pack of rabid oragutan's than live in Sydney

Maybe if the WT's were winning 16 games a season .....

Simple situation for me.
I’m not a young man and start radiation and chemo this week.
If I catch it in the next 3 or 4 months I will most probably die.
Isolation, apart from trips to the hospital 5 days a week, is something I just have to do.

Yeah I used to find that getting up in a reasonable amount of time prior to starting, enough for me to have a shower, put clothes on and have a coffee in time for me to start helped. I would always take lunch, would generally go for a short bushwalk in order to get out and break the sedentary nature that working from home can allow.

Jesus that's no good mate.

All the best with your treatment, I hope you have a great outcome.

Sorry to hear that. Hope it all goes well. Just as much as you can stay away from others. Isolation is the way to go for sure. Not sure what support you have but we are here if you need to talk/vent.

Best of luck mate, the hospital staff will understand that the chemo weakens your immune system and I reckon your health will be their top priority...God bless and you will be in all our thoughts and prayers...

Stay strong champion - we're all in this together!
You need to especially follow all medical requirements.
And maybe keep in touch with us here too.

Thanks for the kind remarks to you all.
I'm unlucky to be in this situation at a time when there's a lot of extra things to worry about apart from getting through the cancer.
I was looking forward to the footy to help keep me sane (if you can be considered sane following the mighty WestsTigers) but now that's gone too lol
There remains one constant though... I can always rely on my fellow supporters on here to keep me occupied and amused!

If you ever need an argument to take your mind off current events you know where to find me 😉

All those young hotties finally caught up to you CK?
Seriously... Best of luck champ... Keep the distance... Just keep away from others... Hope you have plenty of support

Thanks CB, I’ll still be up for some banter.
Although I admit I’m somewhat opinionated I don’t begrudge people their own views. (except the bizarre ones lol)
No matter the differences between us all we
share the one planet.

Thanks Ink.
Not very attractive to the ladies with a feeding tube hanging out of my stomach at present lol
At least I’ll be like everyone else in one respect - missing the pub.
