Daine Laurie #237

Isn’t Laurie a cousin of Jimmy the Jet? Maybe I heard that wrong 🤔

Cousin of Cody Walker 😳

Keen to see him when he's fully adjusted to our club and first grade. Lightning fast and great footwork reminds me of Paps. Plenty of strike in our backline

I reckon Momo had a place here but I trust Madge and Hartigan. They seem to have plans in place and Laurie obviously figures in those. Hopefully Mbye might start looking elsewhere.

Good to see no blood lost between our clubs

Well... notice he didn't include "Tigers" in that quote.

Penrith will have a tonne of expectation on them this year. Teams have had a whole off season to do their homework on them. They will likely have another good year but it won't be the cakewalk they had last year.

Yep, that was my point. They're a salty bunch

Awesome news. All the best Momo, welcome on-board DL. Plenty of competition for positions, substantial speed and
x-factor throughout the park

Glad we got him as we need a fullback.

Lets not blow too much smoke up the recruitment team though. We started off negotiating Cini for Laurie and have finished up giving up a player that kicks goals, has probably our highest try scoring strike rate and has been part of (though not playing) 2 premiership winning squads.

Unless you include Mbye & Doueihi we have 3 outside backs that have played more the 15 first grade games and 4 that have played more than 5. Young guys coming through need some experience around them and if we get a couple of injuries in the backs, we are in all sorts of trouble.

Enjoy the moment, worry about other stuff when/if it happens.

I'm sure we'll have all position covered when required.

Momorovski has only played 19 NRL games, hardly experienced whereas JTJ = 151 NRL, 3 SOO, BJ = 218NRL Games, Nofo=139. There is plenty of experience in the backs. Experience is the weakest argument for keeping him.

Another excellent signing and congrats to all involved..

Very smart move but I don't think he will start round 1 in front of Mybe unfortunately.

I think the coaches will give him a few weeks to settle into our style in reserve grade to go from there.

Judging by the reaction I hope everyone remembers he is only young in a key position so he will make mistakes and maybe lose games for us but will grow into it in time.. Very happy to have him on board

I can't like this enough

Recruitment team have done a fantastic job

I’m glad Laurie could join us early but sad to see momo go would have liked to have kept him I’m sure he would have got plenty of game time

Yep, would have been much happier with a Cini-Laurie swap...

they didn't want Cini though they wanted momo
