Is there a worse play by play man in the game? I know Voss gets a lot of hate, and I can kinda understand why people would dislike him, but this guy is next level. Has a real bad habit of being condescending to the lower team when they are playing a heavyweight, which he was doing deluxe last night.

Also can’t stand the way he reacts when a star player makes a play. Has a tendency to change his tone to a “of course he did that, cos he’s that good”

Last week it was him Blocker, and Tallis probably the worst trio ever.

He’s absolutely horrendous

I can live with him, at least he calls with passion.

Can't stand Voss having to crack a joke/make a pun/ pull out some random saying... every single play.

His not the only impartial NRL commentator I can give you 3 main offenders - Brad “The Tool” Fittler, Bwath Anastasia and the one I find disappointing is Peter Sterling since Parramatta have become competitive again his commentary has taken a dive.

Really can't stand a majority of the callers these days. Warren Smith probably the only one I like.

Tbh, I’ve never noticed Sterlo’s bias to Parra.

Nah

Great call last night

Blocker is great as well

Have a shot whenever Blocker uses the following terms

“Will be interesting to see”
“An easy walk to the 20”
“They’re out on their feet”
“Geez he’s a good player”

I actually think he is fairly critical of Parra at times which is refreshing. I just wish Sterlo was more biased towards the blues when he has that imbicile Vautin sitting next to him blowing smoke up the pipes of the maroons team over the years. It still baffles me how Vautin made a career in the media.

Yeah Ginane is not my style either. I like Warren Smith and also I do like Vossy - often get a chuckle from his slightly warped sense of humour which is a good change from the usual style and I would take him over most others except Smith.
Blocker is harmless, don't hear much of Sterlo because we mostly prefer to listen to the Fox commentary but he was always pretty insightful IMO.
Fittler - pass
Ennis - pass
Cronk - pass, either bias or Captain Obvious

Matt Nable and Ray Hadley are way worse

Matt Nable would be next level for even Ginane, but he doesn’t call anymore thankfully. Just got mute his melodramatic build up packages before games. Goose.

Warren Smith has rocketed up the list as one of the worst. Stick to calling B-grade baseball and other Seppo sports. He's rubbish.

Hahaha I remember you started a thread like this when he made a big call on Triple M sometime GNR.

I didn't like him on radio too much, too opinionated and self important but on TV, calls the game quite well and keeps his opinions to himself.

I like commentators that keep their opinions to themselves and just call the game. There are plenty of things happening on the field that get missed by the public coz the commentator has no idea, the refs do a good job with their hand signals and calls but the commentator is always either late or unaware.

Opinions should be saved for post match, half time and maybe the stoppages with the expert panel (minimal though).

Don't start me.
The quality of footy commentary and that of rugby league journalism has diminished over recent years.
Media requires social interactions and sensationalism is rife, facts are distorted and momentary self-image is all that's required to "sell" their version of product.
Read any match report of any game or try and listen to the on-air match commentary - we are not given the game - we're given their version of their agendas.

This will ruffle some feathers on here, but the fact Ginane insists on emphasising the second “s” is Wests whenever he says Wests Tigers drives me nuts. Just pronounce it West Tigers like everybody else... much easier on the ear.

The two words don't roll off one another smoothly, emphasisng the S is necessary to say it correctly... Almost need a slight pause between the two.... Easier to just say Wests or Tigers... We know who he means
