**Why would we want an origin player?**

This forum makes me laugh.

To be fair, we haven't had the best run with SOO players coming to wests. ( I don't count Harry)

In our centers now. Gagai is great at Origin and we need players who can lift like that when we make the finals.
We just have too much cap in our centers now. Probably 1.4m. I dont see value in adding another high profile center.

I would much prefer Oliver Gildart to Gagai.


Reports are we have already signed Gildart. So who is his centre partner next season? AD, Joey, JTJ, one of the young guys like Ogden or Kei, or do we recruit a Gagai or Kris. If its AD then who is 5/8 - maybe Hastings and Brooks are the halves.
We certainly could do with a big tall winger like Tupou or Coates or Saab- these guys offer so much.

Most of forum said Saab was a dud when I said we should sign him ? gun player, crazy fast and great in the air.

First Lomax was a dud, then Saab is a dud, mansour was too old. We would have to be the pickiest supporter base in the NRL.

You forgot Gagai is a gronk.

The upside might be seeing Brooks playing angry

I don,t see the 1.4 mil value in our current centres, and they have no contract for next year.

If any of those three are a starting centre in 2022 I'll be furious. Two of them should not be with the club and the other should be at 5/8.

If Maguire moves Doueihi to the centres full time it only leaves one spot.

Id say Kepoa deserves first crack. maybe keep BJ and The Jet at a low price, add the two or three good prospect coming through in the position and i see no reason at all to even entertain a 30yo player whose best days are behind him.

Get me Nico Hynes instead.

BJ and Roberts are not signed beyond 2021. I still think AD will be 5/8 long term.

That leaves the likes of Talau and Kepaoa who will not get us into finals.

Yeah supposedly, but not sure how well he’ll do. Agree on BJ, no more than a 1 year contract though.

We desperately need a couple of good wingers. Nofa is our only one, the rest are stopgap players.

Re Signing BJ at all for any kind of FG contract is loser mentality.

We've seen what he brings to the table and it isn't what is needed.

We need some one like Joey Manu, Justin Olam.
A consistent performer that gets the job done.

BJ can play cup or go to England.
Can't see many NRL clubs lining up for his signature.

We should trade Jet and BJ in for a Nicho Hynes, he's versatile but I like him at centre.

Tall, fast, smart.

This guy is such a winner...

On and off the field.
If we could land him, he would only improve our club.

He's itching for a starting position and for a club to invest him like that, Diamond in the rough.

Anyone saying otherwise or complaining he's too small is too use to coming 9th or 13th.

This will be a missed recruitment opportunity if we don't make a play.
