Danny Galea- Stay or Go??

So Guys and Girls, what is your opinion on whether Danny Galea stays or goes?

Personally, I loved the way he played this year and deserves another contract. we go on about our bad our defence is sometimes and then we put Danny into the line up and our defence seemed to be so much more solid.
As Dannys minutes went up, the better defence we played. We had good balance and structure in defence on the fringes with Ellis on the right and Galea on the left.

I know it is a juggling act but if the dollars match up, then Danny deserves to stay. I for one think the team is better with Danny than without him.
He provides the balance that is needed in our forward pack.

Would like him to be re-signed but my guess is that he is no chance.

As Smeg said, Galea is pretty much gone. While his defence contributed towards the team well in 2009, the emerging talent coming through the grades was always going to make it tough for Danny to be re-signed.

imo Liam Fulton can add more in attack and tackles very well, just doesnt hit as hard a Galea.

We have at least 3 80 minute backrowers now and if Lima and Cyless sign there is no room for Galea.

I'd like him to stay, but not if we're going to bring Liam Fulton back. No need to have Fulton, Dwyer, Flanagan and Galea in the same team.

And certainly not if we're a chance of signing Cayless and Lima, who I'd much prefer to have in the squad over Galea.

We have a lot of blokes coming through yes… but we have few guys who can wrap up a tackle and impose themselves on opposition sides...

This is where Galea was great... someone mentioned the team's improvement when he was given more minutes... i noticed his attack improve when he was given more minutes and i would have him over any other back-rower at the club bar Ellis.... he's a huge loss imo

Probably in the minority here but i would rather Galea over Fulton
I think we will miss his tackling but in saying that its not to concerning that we are losing him

More than confident in the young blokes coming through....Dwyer, Schirnack, Mataka, Fafita....can't wait to see them after the off season with Folksie and Sheens flogging them....Oh and Liam's coming back....

I liked the way Galea played this year…but if we are getting Cayless and Lima then we can't keep 'em all....he is a good player though....they stayed hit when he hit them!

Can anyone confirm where Danny is going then?

I for one reckon he will be missed in our team. Not flash but he was a rock. They type of player you want next to you on the field.
I understand the reason why, just glad to hear that most people on here liked how Danny played and will be missed next season.
If we sign Cayless and Lima, then this will make up for removal of Galea however if not well…you live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Been a fan of Galea's for the last 2 years and its a real shame he's going. He did his Achilles last year and thats a nasty injury, so i'd expect his attack to improve a lot next year.

I'd love to have him at lock with one of our young guy's partnering Ellis in the backrow, but sadly its not going to happen.

He's exactly the type of player Souths need i reckon.

I wish him every bit of success wherever he ends up.

I think you are right, is the type of forward that would compliment souths pack. They need a hardworker to even out their forward pack.

Galea was a good player here and I wish him luck next year but I'm not sure if we will miss him. I'm happy to let him go due to our depth, but maybe I'll regret it next year. Time will tell.
