he was @ the 2005 grand final supporting the tigers

There was a young guy with Down Syndrome and Darren made him a big part of the Tigers build up to the big game, I remember a TV story about this, Darren was the 90's version of Michael Ennis, a real niggler, a great Tiger in his day.

As a Wests fan I hated him. Always niggling, waving his arms up and down at the refs. He was a lot like Ennis, Toovey Hill etc.

Darren Senter was the beginning of the Wests side of the merger feeling like we were not an equal in the merger.

Cherry Mescia was the Magpies hooker and all Wests fans believed he should have been selected at hooker for the Wests Tigers first year, instead the Old Balmain coach Wayne Pearce selected Senter.

May be silly but that is why there was alot of hate for him. I think most got over it pretty quickly and he became a favourite before long.
