He used to give 110 per cent But an origin hooker please

Dean Young played a game or 2 at hooker in Origin didn't he? Senter was every bit his equal IMO. If you play for the right club, doors will open.
Mbye has played SOO at hooker too IIRC?

Dean Young is up there as one of the most overrated footy players.

His daddy wouldnt agree

He was just as over rated as his son - both were thugs.

His surname is what got him rep honours.

Was Craig Young any good? I know he played quite a bit of Origin and Test footy but from the bits and pieces of old games I've seen of him he looked ordinary IMO. Loved how Roy and HG used to refer to his "bum on" running habit where he hit the defensive line arse-first?.

I remember when Blocker was starting his career and faced Young and another big name dragons forward in Pat Jarvis who was better than Young imo at Kogarah oval.Blocker outplayed them both Jarvis kept on coming all day but Young dogged it when it wasnt going his way.

Typified the late 90s tigers: hard working, very little speed or size, some dumb plays and very little talent or spark. Sounds harsh but don't mean it to be, just how they were.

IMO he had plenty of spark and quite a turn of speed for a hooker. His kicking game and ball-looking weren't standout but his defence was robust and he never shirked anything.

Oppositions hated him... Was odd being a player I disliked as a magpie fan to having him in my team a few years after.
Loved his niggle

Forum is mucking up

I liked Senter and the way he tried to get under other players skin ...he was a far better player than many thought ....and I always forget he was a Doggies boy originally

But always got the feeling he was not a fan favourite or a Forum favourite ...bit too grubby for some it seemed

Can't recall him ever doing anything classed as grubby though. He was a niggler and always quick with a quip but he wasn't a grub IMO.

Best underdog win I can remember was against Norths. We won 9-7.

Mick Gillet scored I think

Neither did I ...but I remember a thread about old players and a few didn't like his actions
