David Klemmer...

Surely too good to be true. Id pay money out of my own pocket to see Woods left like a shag on a rock at Belmore next year with his man crush gone. Imagine if he we signed him. How long will Woods be wishing he could have the last 3 months over? 5 years? 10 years?

This would make my day. I still want him to go though. I just don't rate him and I think he is a big reason we haven't performed. We pay a player with minimal impact way too much money and that affects our squad.

This is pure gold :roll

I'd throw big money at him just to get him thinking and annoy Woods and the Kennel forum.

Go have a read of the Kennel see what they think about how their club is being run, it's good for a bit of a laugh that is if you don't mind the foul language.

The way the Bulldogs, Canberra, Roosters ect have bought big in recent years, I'm not too surprised some quality players in these squads are going to be squeezed out…or unhappy about all these new deals happening and being left behind in the grab for cash that is season 2017/18.
Things might not be so rosie around the BBQ between the Woods's and Klemmer's. Hopefully a New Idea or Woman's Weekly type mag can reveal all the gossip in a tell all (for cash of course).

Big yes for me, a very good player and would give Woodsey mad regret on leaving us!

Unfortunately, I don't see this being true….... But the dogs do need to offload players and Klemmer may be that player if they decide to keep Graham.

Kasiano will go to Storm.... But I don't see any clubs looking at Eastwood unless Dogs chip in.

And chip in big.
I suspect that was the sticking point when WT showed interest.

Sounds like the biggest beat up so far this year.
Take a chill pill, even if it was true, there is at least a dozen clubs that Klemmer would go to before he would come here.

Yeah who would want to come to a club that is actively changing its culture and building a solid roster of players who want to succeed?
What are you going to do next year when we have a squad who competes most weeks?

Stryker we will be fine next year, hell if everyone had a crack we would win some games this year, and Packer, Mataulino and Reynolds are good players

That's fine about the future, but it hasnt happened yet, and there's been a whole lot of rebuilding talk around this club for years. At least his time we seem to have someone who may be capabable of actually doing it right, ,but it's all speculation at the moment we've got some players coming that are definetly better than what we've already got here, but contrary to some opinion which says that we are better off without a recognised Gamebreaker on board.

That's fine if we just want to move up a bit higher on the ladder, (and we certainly need players to raise the talent average in the club and team.
But I can't remember ,(and I may be wrong) many teams going too far into the semis ( or into the Semis at all)without at least One or two top players in the Squad.
We've been aggressively in the market( clubs own words) since Ivan arrived, and still can't see any of those players wanting to move here.
It may be different if we do alright next year, but it may take longer than that before we wil kill off the reluctance of the top tier to come here for the same price that others pay.

I hope that starts to happen next year, There's been a few rebuilding phases in our history. This one could actually be the real thing.
But we still ( so Far), haven't been able to drawer Origin type players here, hopefully that time will come. It would be good to see
And , Stryker, I wasn't being Negative, just Realistic. There's a difference. I'm not talking about just hopes, and when we see some results. On the field. I'll be as happy as you are.
If you think that Klemmer would come here, I'nope you are right and I'm wrong

What a shambles of a club. I imagine James Hooper et al will be all over this.

A good journo would, but Hooper is not a journo, let alone a good one

I appreciate the passion everyone is showing in wanting to pay Klemmer overs to get back at Woods. However, the reason our club is a basketcase is that we have historically payed overs and nearly did the same for Woods/Brooks/Moses.

I say make Klemmer an offer eg. Starting Prop, Co-Captain, playing with your old mate Reynolds. Offer him a reasonable salary and see what happens. If he doesn't come, then shrug it off and keep looking for players who will play for a reasonable price.

I liked what Ivan said about building a culture… if we get players who build the right culture it will be another factor in attracting the best players to our club.

Lets build slow, build right and dominate in the long run. Maybe in the next 17 years we will miss the finals three times rather than only making the finals three times in the last 17!

Lets go TIGERS, recruit the right players, for the right price and do it right!

Whether we land Klemmer or someone else, I think it shows we're in a good position in the transfer market.

We have some big names in our pack to encourage more and have bought astutely in the backs (although I think we need 2 big names still).

If we bide our time, we may get some quality players that won't fit in to other teams salary caps. It will be interesting who exactly will be shed from other teams.

But, wishful thinking, if we actually did land Klemmer, we'd have one of the best starting packs in the NRL.

Unfortunately the build slow and build right policy hasn't worked…we've built for every other club

Canterbury Bulldogs prop David Klemmer reportedly seeking a release from NRL contract
By Sacha Mirzabegian

The Bulldogs have categorically denied prop David Klemmer has asked for a release from the club over failed financial dealings. Bulldogs chief executive Raelene Castle says there's not truth to the reports that Klemmer has requested a release.

Fairfax Media reports Klemmer could be on his way out of Belmore and the Origin player is seeking to part ways with the club from the final three years of his current deal which expires in 2020\. In what could be seen as a major blow to Canterbury’s future aspirations, Klemmer is believed to be upset over the club’s failure to commit to a number of financial agreements previously agreed upon.

What also seems to be irking Klemmer is his future as a starting player in the Bulldogs pack. The 23-year-old may have to be shifted to the bench next year to accommodate the arrival of Aaron Woods, who would link up with Tolman and skipper James Graham in the starting pack. The Bulldogs are said to be scrambling to appease Klemmer and give the player what he’s owed but there’s no guarantee the monster forward will stay.

With Klemmer’s standing in the game it won’t take too long for the young forward to find another home with whispers the Tigers are keen to swoop. The Tigers showed interest in the Blues forward last time he was off contract and it would be fair to say Ivan Cleary wouldn’t mind adding a massive forward to his already humungous pack including new signings Russell Packer and Ben Matulino for next year.

Klemmer is also said to be unhappy with the way the Bulldogs treated close friend and teammate Josh Reynolds, who is also off to the Tigers at the end of the season. The Bulldogs are having a tough time re-jigging their salary cap for next year with the family club expecting to part ways with Sam Kasiano and Greg Eastwood to make room for Woods and Kieran Foran. James Graham was reportedly linked to joins the Knights but if Klemmer seeks a release then he’ll likely be able to remain with the Bulldogs.
