David Nofoaluma #164

Some people are carrying on as if he's pressuring the club to give him a massive contract, but what he's really saying is, he need to see if anyone is offering something better to assist with his life after footy, retirement, as all of us would consider in life. If another team offers him a huge contract, good on him & I don't blame him for taking it. We all have a life to live.

Nofa is a flat track bully, whenever we really need to win he has a quiet game. Spend the half million on a match winner, should have swapped him for JAC.

Multiple tries against titans 2 bulldogs 3 dragons 2 and manly 3 inflated his stats in 2020.

Maybe we will . If Nofa goes then it opens up more for JAC . My issue with signing JAC is I didn’t want 1.1 mil of the cap tied up in 2 wingers . In saying that I’d rather refer Nofa to stay than pay JAC the money he wants . Purely for loyalty reasons

Good on him.

He has always given his all, even in his poor games. You can never question his commitment or passion for the club.

He states that he wants to stay but will look around to gauge interest, as would every single one of us.

He hasn't asked for a release or carried on, just explaining his process and thoughts up front so there are no media smear campaigns.

I hope (and believe we will) keep him, but he is entitled to be paid what the market deems he is worth. Fingers crossed he gets it from the tigers.

Is he entitled to the long serving discount/exemption? If so there should be no way we lose him.

Looks like the club has lowballed him![SmartSelect_20201126-182355_Daily Telegraph.jpg](/assets/uploads/files/1606376211750-smartselect_20201126-182355_daily-telegraph.jpg)

Every contract could potentially be your last ...whats he want ... a 5 year deal ...he is a winger ...he's not Taumalolo

Oh by the way ...I'm sure the Shirnacks , Lovetts and Buchanan's gave 100 % every week ..not Robinson Crusoe there

Getting angrier the more I think about it ...that has a Marshall /Farah feel to it .....I'm loyal so give me more than I'm worth

The optics are very poor immediately following the Aloiai issue. Just move on.

***Nofa is 26... if this is his last contract, what's he after a 5 yr deal?**

Pure money grab here. I know players have to look out for themselves, but there's a fine line where you become a mercenary, and it's a line that if you cross you become no good for the club to hire.

What will people think* if Nofa's next to sing the 'What about me' sob story, and bag out the WT and leave to another club?

Will he leave and we all say, well at least now there's a spot in the roster where he was, and the money we were paying him now we can pay someone else, so yah we win.

If Nofa wants more money, negotiate with some class, and keep it out of the press.

Every contract a player signs is potentially their last. Only one Tuiaki/Dwyer type injury from it all being over. They have to get in while they can.

This is really a nothing article. He’s received our offer, so naturally he’ll want to go out and see what other clubs rate his worth as. If he receives an offer somewhere else 50-100k more, he can come back to us to see if we want to match it.

Go out and sign someone like Valemei from Canberra and use his dough to further improve our forwards or sign a quality spine player

Ha you mean that manly game where we trailled 20-6 at half time?

Nofo, along with Brooks is basically Wests Tigers for mine and a smattering of Liddle along with the returned Doueihi and even Seyfarth complete the me remaining a supporter puzzle. I supported a footy club that joined with a competitor to become one. For a couple of decades or so since accepting they became WT, I have primarily cheered on it's first grade team and to a lesser extent the lower grades and juniors, not a business that I couldn't give two hoots for otherwise.

The day my club turns it's back on juniors that are not troublesome or similarly arrived youngsters by not doing their best in retaining them on reasonable dollars, is the day that they are no longer a league club to me and just another corporate entity with a trading name.

And fans whinge about lack of player loyalty.... This thread.. Lol

Lol. Exactly. Loyal players should take whatever the club offers and be happy, right?

And if they dare consider their options, they are a traitor.

I'm a big fan of David Nofoaluma. Love him and everything he has done for the club.

However, I stand with the club should they allow him to walk for a better deal. They should only pay him what he's worth.

He should carefully consider his options. He may be able to get more money elsewhere, but if he plays his cards right, he has a job for life here at WT.

I know we could be losing Nofa and I HIGHLY recommend with the money we have we should get him on top dollars. But I am happy the Tigers are getting to re-signing players off-contract players in 2021. As I was looking at how long the contracts are going for, majority Tigers players are expiring at the end of 2021. Some for good, some we need to jump on and resign.

Three weeks ago Josh A.never wanted to play anywhere else. I think we are entitled to get use to the fact that player loyalty only ever lasts the length of a contract, and once bigger and better offers come in club loyalty starts to look very shakey. We would be silly to assume that Nofa is different but would be more than happy if he decided to stay.

He's playing a dangerous game with his legends pin..

You can tell by performances over recent years players are just collecting their pay check at Wests. Happy for the turnover.
