David Nofoaluma #164

I want so much for this guy to fix his abysmal defence because of his passion for the club. Say what you will about Nofo, the bloke bleeds black, white and orange. If only a few others had followed his example and not just thought about their next pay check.

I love how ted is an authority on origin now LMAO he was a dud in game 3 last year and is thoroughly undeserving of his spot for game 1 this year.
Dont break a jaw you buck toothed gimp.

You have low expectations getting excited over Hoppa.

His defensive reads are shocking
15m in field then having to turn around and chase a sydney harbour bridge pass..

Im not sure when he will learn if he hasnt so far under 4 coaches

Love it

We all love Nofo.
Just like we all loved Beau Ryan when he played at the tigers.

But both are no super star potenital NSW or Australia reps.

Nofo at least acknowledges he has faults in his game, unlike some of his team mates

I am sure that Nofo will fix this area of his game. The more learning from Ivan, the better player he will become. He has identified a weakness in his game and he will strive to fix it. He has set himself a goal and will work as hard as he can to achieve it. Nofoaluma (with the help of Cleary) will be the best winger in the comp, in the near future.

Good times ahead on the right side :righton:

Not every good player is a rep player. There is a category of players who are good club players and that's their ceiling. I always thought Heighington was one of those players. Noffa is one too.

I think it was a mistake for us to re-sign Nofo. I think he's a horribly overrated player that does far more bad than good.

Totally agree re: Hopoate. Can't believe people on here bag him out. He's class.

Again Nofoaluma has his issues sure..Why is Nofoaluma 15m infield… well...He is following the structure of the right side defence...which still seems to have no idea how to count numbers or slide effectively...If Nofoaluma stayed on the touchline there would still be that 15m gap except it would be between him and his centre...Teams just collapse our middle and the edges suffer...

Defence is about working together as units not individuals...So far the last 4 Coaches haven't been able to drill that into them...

It is Cleary's biggest challenge...

Yes GNR…low expectations comes from 40 years as a tigers supporter....just want to see us grab a few experienced backs....and apart from hoppa and fergo there isnt much left

Couldn't agree more. What's the point on staying on your man and leaving the centre and 5/8 unopposed to walk it in. Yes he does have bad reads but you can't stay on your man when it's 3 on 1 you need to attempt to shut the move down early.

He is a good player, not origin standard yet but fix his defense and he will be in the mix. He is a better player than some previous NSW wingers i.e McManus, Turner , wolfman williams.

He obviously knows his issues and in a couple years a lot can change. If he works on it and combines well with the players around him it is possible.

Shoring up the defence in the middle will help our edges because our middle becomes so condensed from missed tackles and players unable to make 1 on 1 tackles.
