I also liked the comments from Lee. Nofa is important to us, we value what we he brings to the club. And of course his agent will try to do what's best for Nofa.

But I only like Nofa because he's a WT player, and yes he has to 'look after himself', but the team comes first. If Nofa wants to get every cent out of us he can, then forget it, he has the wrong attitude, go elsewhere. $450k imo is more than fair, for* his playing ability, and what he brings to the team being a long-standing player. If he wants to try and bleed more out of us, which will hurt the team as it's less money we can spend elsewhere, then personally I would wish him well when he leaves.

I agree that if he was with another club we wouldn't be looking twice at him, but he is a winger at our club and like every single other player will try to squeeze as much money as he can which is his right. I like what he offers to our team despite some questionable defense.
The club is also in their right to put their valuation on what he offers, and if he signs with us, great....but if he gets more coin elsewhere good luck to him. With the time he has spent at the club we should know what his top price would be, and if another club pays overs then that is their problem.

Do we use TPA’s?

Nofo should get our deal plus something from one of these

that is a question that I don't recall anybody on here ever discussing. It would be very handy to know, apart from the announcement of who sponsors who on game day. I don't care who throws in what, I would be interested in knowing who throws in anything, and I'm not talking about Moses and the towel....

Yeah, I’ve never heard it mentioned before, I think Roosters and others wouldn’t survive without them?

I’m shocked how much Nofo negativity there is in this thread.

Nofo is the heart and soul of this club. He contributes the most on AND off the field.

And all that aside he is an elite winger. Without a doubt top 5 and I would argue top 3. Who’s better...JAC and maybe Tupou. Who else?

He absolutely deserves to be paid as an elite winger. We’ve seen the club draw a line in the sand and refuse to pay overs so I have full confidence Hartigan and Madge will get it right here.

Jesus if you’re a Tigers fan and you don’t love Nofo then IMO you’re doing it wrong.

A solid club player, nothing more, nothing less. Had a very good season. He got paid $450k last time because he had us over a barrel and he's played to that value one season out of three. I don't think he's worth a cent more than that. Good in attack, very poor in defence.

We have lots of outside backs coming through, he's easily replaced. If he stays at $450k, cool, if he goes, no dramas.

You can’t honestly think things are that black and white in a footy club.

You’re completely ignoring everything else he brings to the dressing room and off the field.

Turfing people like that because they don’t fit your Moneyball methods is a sure fire way of destroying a club from within.

We've seen far better wingers leave for a variety of reasons. He goes end of next year, he will be replaced.

You seem like a blast.

I like to believe I can look at players objectively. And I'll say it again, Brett Morris in his mid 30s is a far better player. He and his brother always have been.

Yeah he was killing it at the Dogs. Stick Nofo on the end of a Roosters backline.

The Morris boys were headed for the top from the Illawarra juniors. Height, strength, pace, defence, will to win and finishing. Pace also means stronger defence as both have proven in SOO.
Quality players no doubt.

Nofoaluma is off contract at the end of 2021 and the Tigers have tabled a three-year deal for their star winger which would make him one of the best-paid outside backs in the game.

This is a concern...

Yeah I wonder what the exact figure is.... it will hurt us in the final year of his deal most likely

It is a worry. Good news re Madge though.

I’m happy both are extending for sure. With that veteran allowance, if he’s on say $600k (just an example) and we use the $200k allowance, that means he’ll only take $400k from our cap?

That is not how it works.

I’d love to see a poll of other teams fans and whether they’d want him at their club. I would wager the results would be a resounding yes.

Overpaying players is what destroys clubs.

I totally agree. We also have a history of doing this. Nofo is in my opinion a great player. He is a top club level winger. I have no problems with not asking Nofo if he would go to Melbourne. I don't think that shows integrity. I want Nofo to get paid a good salary. I honestly think 500k is overs.

We have just gotten Reynolds off our books. We still have Packer and Mbye. Let's not add Nofo to that list of players. I'd rather he leave for his sake.

Exactly. I don't see other clubs offering him overs. I don't see JAC getting so much. The massive offer from the Dogs was supposedly 500k per season. Is Nofo better or as good as JAC ?

I would put Nofa at the top end of non origin wingers. His dirty hitups are his bread and butter, can find the line and he has a good influence in the sheds, but is he worth over 500k? not the quickest winger in the comp and has some defensive issues. If a club pays that then good luck to them and him.

I’d love to see a poll of other teams fans and whether they’d want him at their club. I would wager the results would be a resounding yes.

they would all say yes, but at the right price just like we are

Have the $’s been conformed? I would be surprised if it was common knowledge.

mate I'm just speculating, and that would be my absolute top offer to him

Not look at him twice? He was the winger of the year this season. Its the complete opposite, for some reason a lot of our fans take him for granted.

Yeah, it’s just a lot of people are saying $500k, that’s all. I thought I must have missed something

How does it work then? If it’s an allowance surely it saves us cap Space in some way?
