Because it’s all quite and the club is doing things the right way everyone gets nervous & panics.

Last year everyone was freaking out about the leaks etc.

The clubs days of signing players on overs is gone. He won’t be getting anything close to 500k.

It wouldn’t surprise me if he signed soon to a 3yr deal with 1yr option in our favor.

Who knows maybe the club slowed talks down due to other player activities.... just a thought....

Lee on the radio this morning seems very confident about retaining Nofa. Said he won’t let Nofa play in another jersey in the NRL and wants him a Tiger for life, and Nofa feels the same. Confirms he’s been offered a contract and that they’re well into negotiations.

Not surprising, no other team would come close to his asking price. If we cave and sign him for 4 years it's a terrible move. 2 preferred, 3 absolute max.


A little disappointing to hear the club has buckled and offered a 4th year , but it is at co. If the dollars are up in the high 400s I would have preferred a 2+2@co?

I didn't read it like that. The option is in the clubs favor.

I love the hardball stance you guys are taking. It's as if you think we can afford to shed good players. Before you start taking about offers around the 300k mark, go back and watch some games. He is an amazing meter eater and can score tries with three defenders in front of him. He is the only one in our roster who does this and you guys think we can impose any condition we want?

But a team of rugby league nomads, reformed bad boys, overpaid vets and unproven rookies are about to lead us from oblivion mate. Just ask the forum.

That's honestly the most accurate description of the Tigers, spot on.

Whenever I start to find myself hoping or expecting too much I go and look at some of the top 4 sides on paper. Superstars as far as the eye can see. Can’t we have just one?!

You need to lower your expectations mate and just relax ...

Just not my personality mate, mediocrity doesn’t cut it.

It just had the same vibes as what you said . You’re pretty negative about things here mate .It’s not healthy to be so negative about something you supposedly love

The club needs to change mate, I’m not going to pretend to be happy with our performance lately. Yes, I am noticing some early signs of progress but I think keeping Noffa on a mutually satisfactory deal is very important. If he leaves it’s hard to say much has changed really. I’ll keep adding my opinions and people like you can keep disagreeing.

Exactly. Way earlier in this thread is was pretty obvious Nofo wasn't on the money that he was being crucified for or that he was going to get crazy money.

I hope he stays and I think he will. If he goes though it's cool as well because it sounds like we are offering more than fair money.

Factually, I say factually - Nofo wants 600-650k a year, where has this real fact come from (and I don';t mean some Goose in the media).

Willow has said that our offer is a lot less than 500k - that is a big dollar gap. You would think if he really wants 600-650k and 4 years and we are immovable - he would have pulled out of negotiations.

I think the 600-650k is just a made up figure and half on here have fallen for it.

At best his manager has indicated but is that really Noffo.

I don’t think the on field performances are anything close to acceptable . But I also , understand how much of a bag of crap this club was , where the only players at any level choosing us were , club legends kids , loyal tigers supporters like brooks , cast offs from other clubs , like Dylan Smith , , and average juniors who we developed . Mitch Moses by the way , was rejected by the eels for being too small and told he wouldn’t make it. This is just at u20s and below . In the last few years we have recruited a kings ransom of talent , it’s with this in mind , plus the great corporate stuff we are doing , that I reckon the club is doing well.

We screwed up with an entire generation with guys who are 26 and above . They are refusing to sign here because of past reputations , basically things we did when those guys were 18-22 . So basically anywhere up until 2016. It started with Cleary , and now with Madge , we are slowly changing that reputation . Guys are leaving here and going on to high rep honours. Someone like Woods is a great example of what our club can do, where he isn’t even the same player now he’s left . He went from nsw/Aus rep player , to the bench for the sharks .
Even teddy was developed here , and the roosters reaped the rewards . Same with Moses , you could say we did most of the work with Papenhuyzen as well . The storm just tweaked it for their system .
We just haven’t kept them because the club sucked . From bad junior coaches to bad facilities . And it does matter . You want to come to work and see elite equipment . Nobody likes to use rusted tools from 30 years ago. We’ve fixed that now .

I hear ya mate, I’m not on here moaning for the sake of it. It’s painful to watch us play and then you switch on the games involving Teddy, Paps and Moses and that’s painful too.

I’ve said I can see signs of life at the club, I’ve said I think we’re two players away from top 8 ( 3 if Noffa leaves) it’s not all negative.

Nothing has changed at this club there are reasons why the club has not played finals for a decade ... these comments by the Chair a case in point no matter if there is a winger that could move you to the next level just have friends in the right places !So over these crap media comments ..

Um, when did he say that? Just because they want to keep Nofa doesn’t mean they’ll be giving him whatever he wants. Lee doesn’t offer the players contracts hartigan does and by all reports they’re only offering him 3 years at a somewhat decent price.

Nothing wrong with what Lee has said at all, essentially all he said is that he’d like to keep Nofa and the club is in discussion with him, not exactly ground breaking stuff

I didn't read it like that. The option is in the clubs favor.

The option is in the club’s favour meaning the club has the option to opt out the, hence “club option” abbreviated co?
