Des Hasler to leave the Bulldogs

I just had a quick look at the Kennel, they are going crazy looks like they have won lotto.
Don't go there if bad language offends you.

Well our club has been through some dark times this season, but now things are really starting to look up  Have fun Woodsy.

The drama will be over by the time he starts there next season or at least he hopes so.

Apparently Des and his manager think he is owed $1million and it looks like lawyers at 10 paces ..as most know Des has the first $ he made …

TBH getting rid of Des has probably made it a more stable club than if he stayed. The dogs don't stay down long.

Spot on. The Dogs will be a stronger club next year without Des being there, they had become stale under him.

With the salary cap situation, i doubt it. Their roster looks average. If their cap clears up for 2019, they might be back if they enter the player market.

A very underperforming squad this year but with a few new faces and a new coach I can see them going well.

I don't see Woods turning them around. The new coach will have a tough task with no established halfback or hooker, an average fullback, and an ageing pair of twins in the outside backs. And some complain about our spine.

Agree.
If Des was still the coach next year every single loss would of been met with innuendo about whether he should be punted from the club or not. The new coach will get a bit of a honeymoon period to settle in.
Not sure about all the talk surrounding Dean Pay and his "Bulldog DNA"…..... he left the Bulldogs for more money to sign with Parra back in his playing days. He is just as much a mercenary as Des.

I agree. They've swapped Reynolds for Foran. A slight upgrade maybe but Foran's 2017 wasn't great.
They've swapped Graham and Kasiano for Woods. At best a push. Woods is an excellent prop but they've given up a lot.
More to the point they've given up two of their heart and soul players. Plus maybe more losses to come. They' went poorly this year and would need to lift to make an impact next year.

Absolutely, they don't take mediocrity for long, they do something about it.

But, but its the Bulldogs, they don't stay down for too long.

The smart money if anyone looks past that nonsense and actually looks at their roster is that they are in for a tough year next year. After that, it depends on who they can afford on the market. They have the spine of a paramecium.

The big difference with the Dogs is that they won't wallow at the bottom of the NRL for a prolonged amount of time like some clubs do. It won't be long before they are back in top 8 country again. Dessi needs a break away from The game.
