Did we ever have an injury crisis with Sheens

I don't remember Sheens ever having to face an injury crisis like this, Potter, since taking over hasn't caught a break. I was speaking to a NSW Cup coach and he said it could be the way we train.

A conspiracy theory huh? The way we train - what, like running, doing excercises and practicing plays? Yeah, it must be that.

So how did he say we trained ?

I don't know if it's been said already, but I think a big factor in our injury toll is the fact we sign players with a prior history of major or long term injury and players in their twilight. Then we have players with bad injuries who we retain year after year.

Also, we have to play juniors who wouldn't normally be in first grade with under-developed bodies. Throw in a bit of bad luck and you have an injury crisis.

I agree with you. They must be being told to run on their heels or something.

God yes, Milky! Some of our worst injuries were during the Sheens era including the career ending injuries to Tuiaki and Dwyer. Galloway was rarely on the field; Benji, Halatau and Fulton were all injured long term straight after our premiership win; Ellis struggled to stay on the field for much of his last 2 seasons with us; Moltzen was gone for a whole season also and, of course, who could forget Tuqiri's never-mending broken arm? (now look at how well he is going at another club  ) All that said, the injuries have probably been more consequential this season than any other, even more than last year.

Injuries have been worse these two years but not by much. We had some shocking run with injuries under Sheens. This season feels like 2007-2008\. Very tough to take.

I believe the reason we are always injured…. is since 2005 we have been the smallest squad in the comp.... Our pack instead of having to do just do there job has to play above there weight every single game and it makes the rest of the side have to muscle up..... Our pigs are battered and bruised every week..... Galloway and woods are our only two big man with the ability to play at this level in our 30 man squad.....
Instead of having a back rower to protect brooks we are asking him to aim up..... Johns, Lockyer they even had protectors... This kid will be bashed out of the game if things don't change....
I'm not bagging our back rowers they aim up every week.... But they are needed to move us up the middle instead of having presence out wide running into holes and spreading out the defensive line.....
I do think potter has tried to address this... This year but only had peanuts to attract players...
