Did you start supporting the Wests Tigers before the merger or after?

Balmain first….wasn't sure about the merger, but if it was good enough for Laurie Nichols then it was good enough for me!!

Balmain from 84….
Always liked the Maggies (always liked the underdogs).
Can't remember the merge, probably to wasted.

Balmain supporter from 67, WT Tragic misses says I love the Tigers more than her, not quite true!!!!

I'm surprised at that, wasn't expecting more than half the forum to be old Balmain fans.

I guess that's why Wests group continues to indulge the Balmain half of the merger even though it's financially Wests these days.

Only Wests Tigers but my dad's side of the family supported Wests for a very long time. So I am a Wests fan but I have only been around since Wests Tigers

Wests Magpies in Sydney and Valleys Diehards in Brisbane. The Broncos basically killed BRL and my team. Hate them so much

Mighty maggies. Uncle played over 100 first grade games as a fullback and dad reserves back in the 70s. I had no chance but to be a magpie.

Unfortunately as a magpie supporter in the 90s, I didn't have too many wins to celebrate, but didn't stop me supporting guys like Langmack, Bobby Lidner, cement Gillespie, Andrew Farah etc

Balmain since 73\. Wog family didn't watch footy. My neighbours took me to LO as his dad was a Balmain fan. I was hooked from then.

I grew up around the corner from Belmore Sports Ground and as a 5 year old all my extended family tried to convince me to become a Bulldogs or Dragons fan. One day my father took me to my first footy game in the early 80's and Balmain Tigers were playing the Bulldogs. You were able to run on to the field after the game and meet or get an autograph or simply pat the players in the back for those who remember that back than. Ever since that moment I found my team and became a Balmain Tigers die hard and since than I am just as passionate about the Wests Tigers and even better I've convinced my 4 younger siblings and now my children, nephews and nieces all to become passionate Wests Tigers fans in the Bulldogs heartland.

Balmain because of my Grandfather but Ilived in Western Suburbs territory so I always cheered for them as well (unless they were playing Balmain). I probably ended up seeing more Wests games than Balmain games as a kid.

Supported Wests since late 70s. Wests Tigers are in my blood. Feel sorry for my kids as now that same blood flows thru their veins. Poor buggers never had a chance

Balmain Tigers fan since the early 70's, can't remember why though coz I have been a Central Coast boy for near 50 years.

Now my daughter and I are loyal West Tigers fans…which will never change.
