Discipline

We need to behave ourselves tomorrow, I think with all the media over the Roosters and their raw deals from refs, last weeks massive cock up that lead to two refs sacked, Braiths running battles and him banging his head on the table….we dont need to give Cummins and Badger any reasons to show theyre not giving the chooks a hard run.
The ill discipline at the start of the year was one reason for our losing trot....this has picked up the last two months...just hope we can hold their forwards and dont need to slow it down too much.

our discipline last year was fantastic.. i think we gained the most penalties and conceded the least penalties last year.

Actually Ink the Roosters are the most penalized side in the NRL

I would be hoping a few of our players who are good at sledging really stick it to blokes like JWH and the like

They have no self control and if we can get under their skin they may self implode again

Yeah and given the dud calls theyve copped recently, it could go against us…the refs could go in subconsciously thinking the Roosters have had a hard time recently and thus go easy on them....thats my point.

Two wrongs don't make a right. It's only fantasy to believe the referees will favor the Roosters.

Youve not heard of refs going into gmes with pre-conceived ideas on how things ''should'' go?
Not fantasy mate….its fact.
Shouldnt happen, but it does

The only way possible is if the referees have a soft spot for the roosters. This year I'm yet to see it. But I can see your point. The problem with the referees started when Harrigan the clown started running the circus. He let his team believe they where invincible, backing them over every error. I say bye bye Billy.

Meanwhile, Sheens admitted he is fearful of a referee backlash after the Roosters were victims of several howlers from the match officials against Brisbane last round.

Both whistleblowers from that match, Matt Cecchin and Adam Devcich, were dropped from NRL duties this week and Sheens is concerned his side may suffer from being over-scrutinised as a result.

"Our discipline in the last seven weeks has been great. I'm hoping we don't get over scrutinised by the referees given that two of them are not in first grade this weekend," Sheens told reporters on Saturday.
"I just hope that the one off controversy from last week doesn't have tomorrow's officials nervous about the game."

Even Sheensy is worried about it - can't say I blame him, history has proven that this kind of crap happens constantly.

My biggest fear in this game is not the Roosters winning it, but us stuffing up and losing it. On the bright side, we've been pretty good in the wet this year.

Away from home definitely agree

But at Leichardt with a parochial home crowd not so sure

I was thinking the same thing, the chooks have been getting a lot of press how unlucky they are. Wet track where points will be hard to come by you dont want the refs doing the get square

A well placed coaches whinge in the press conference can definitely have an effect on refs the week after. Not always, but its happened often enough for Sheens to remind our boys to behave.

You would think the refs would subconsciously favor the roosters based on the events of last week. Sheens has done the right thing by bringing it to their attention in the hope it doesn't go too far the or,her way. A small but effective piece of propaganda in my opinion.

Smart thinking on Tim's part …. Although for me I don't think it's an issue ... There will be plenty of fans there tomorrow to keep the referees honest.

Good move by Sheens to put it put there up front for the refs, his own team and the rorters to hear. Hopefully the Badge will ensure the refs are concentrating.

Love when Badger is the ref. He's a tiger's supporter  he'll give us a few penalties when we're in trouble don't worry :stuck_out_tongue:

Badger has always tended to try and "stamp his authority" by ignoring the bays from the crowd even when they are right early.

I don't know if it is because he is a local or a fan but it always has occured
