Discipline

Exactly. Bateman Klemmar should be dropped for a game if they continue to carry on instead of ripping in. The younger players will follow their lead. Bula im looking at you.
What’s happened to Kit Laulilii ? I see him listed as a reserve this week but the energy he showed in his only blooding last year was so impressive. I thought he would be featuring this year.

That energy returned in NSW Cup last week, good signs after a poor start to the season.

it baffles me that Benji has said in press interviews after the game that lack of effort isn't what has lost us games, as effort = discipline, which = wins

We are slower and can't last as long as other teams in the arm wrestle. After 4 or 5 sets of sizes we get slow and give away 6 agains. Then frustration kicks in, discipline goes out the window. Then we try to be the tough kid in the playground who can't accept that they have been outsmarted.ans out played in the game.

No idea how it all changes.

Our recruitment this year did very little to suggest our position would improve off the bottom of the ladder.
Olam came off the worst season in his career with massive red flags and we got the the untried Fainu brothers and reserve grade half from another bottom 4 club. I don't know how that suggested that this year was going to be significantly better than last.
We were always a couple of injuries away from being in dire trouble, and despite those who try to suggest we are underperforming based on the squad the rest of the NRL community have got us as wooden spoon favourites for good reason.
The blow outs are coming like they do every season when the best teams click into gear and losing wears teams down. The roster is and always will be the problem.
Few clowns thought Brooks was our only issue.

Effort and discipline are completely different. Effort can easily result in errors and cause people to lose discipline.

Our halfback the last 10 years was all effort. Lots of errors.

Seyfarth is all effort. No brains. Same with Naden.

Thought I'd share the link for an in-depth analysis from The Rugby League Eye Test. It's a bit of a read, but it dives into some interesting trends, including penalty counts, referee performances and even some Origin selection thoughts.
Definitely worth checking out if you've got a spare minute.

Yeah....agreed
Effort can result in all manner of results

Do you forget how many stupid players we have had in the past few years???

I think we're on the up...
We’ve parlayed a bloke who ruined his career putting $5 first try scorer bets on opposing players, to an overweight bully calling himself the best centre in the world, to a broken down bloke who got sacked from at least four clubs for behaving badly, to a guy who in the last month, has shown that not everyone learns the basics playing under 10’s.

Our recruitment of centres has been nothing short of diabolical.

Somehow Gilfart doesn’t even make the list.

Agree totally.

But "I'm on the NOW Train".
