Guys,

Reminder to keep things non defamitory and without explicit swearing.

Don’t worry mate, we will all use our big boy pants and you’ve got my guarantee... anybody who can’t behave in a suitable way feel free to hop into the politics/actual covid threads?

Just a suggestion. Thanks Spart.

Seems that the government wants to make an example of anti vax Novak for their conforming constituents however why not just deny him a visa in the first place?

Exactly; now we look far worse than what we did after already making some monumental errors. Federal government at the core of it all.

These are the most basic things we should expect of a situation involving public health, but instead they are running to their own rhythm and people act as if this incident is some sort of call to arms for us Australians. Couldn’t give two shakes mate... just want some consistent and valid leadership that scores us back some respect internationally.

Situation like this and how’s it currently playing out shows not only that we make the mistakes in the first place but that everyone else is on different pages and we still haven’t learnt our lessons as a nation state, let alone individual states... such a shame that so much is being politicised lately...

Carry on Fella’s

**Seems he lied on his entry paper and is blaming someone else for filling his card in.**
Asks if you have been anywhere else in the last 14 days and he ticked the NO box.
Must have forgotten he was in Spain last week. ?
Also did a photo shoot with a French magazine 2 days after he is supposed to be diagnosed with Covid.
Let’s be honest… he never had Covid in December but got 2 doctors to sign off for him.

Yeah but hang on a minute mate. The Joker is the best tennis player in the world.......i'm sure i heard his father say that once.....or twice.........or maybe a few more times than that. Either way, he is a far superior being to all of us and therefore is not subject to rules like the rest of us plebs.

**sorry, but facts and truth are against you, this time**!
Djokovic has recovered from covid 2 times, the last time in mid-Dec 2021. According to the best current science, his immunity is better than any artificially injected immunity (this includes 2/3/4/5/10 times vaxxed!).
For the source, see this overview of injected vs natural immunity https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bamaEMftg4&t=20s
He was examined by two independent medical examiners, selected up by the Fed, and State governments.
The Fed judge confirmed that Djokovic provided all requested documentation before his arrival. Based on these documents, he received the visa!

So anyone that argues against, is either anti law, the science or both!

That's not what he lied about.
You need the facts and he needs to tell the truth.
On your entry card it asks if you have travelled in the last 14 days and he said NO - which was a lie.
If you believe he actually did have Covid in December that's up to you... but I certainly don't.

wish they would have deported him feel sorry for the family members that were locked out of Victoria and the like with dieying relatives. Seems if you are a movie star or sports person you get a green light.
since they did or have not I will death ride him big time for the Australian open

The Prime Minister looks like a complete buffoon on this one. Tried to act tough and gain back some ground after all his recent stuff ups but it blew up in his face internationally.

Novak seemed to do everything right and at the end of the day it looks like the justice system made the correct ruling.

Although, the claims he was a prisoner etc were a bit of a joke.

Seemed to do everything right?

I don't particularly like the bloke, but a court of law judged that he did.

I think he'll win the AO.
Good luck to him.

**Good tennis player, I rate him.**
Waiting for @hobbo1 to send me some of the posters he has on his walls of him for my pool room.

Thanks for the heads up on his tennis ability. I'll look out for him. :face_with_rolling_eyes:

A lost a bit of respect for him a while ago when he was partying during an uncertain times.
I must admit I'm also a little disenchanted with the Australian Government over the way they handled this one.
We need a government that is strong and consistent in all aspects of society, can't pick and choose when lives depend on it.
I think this topic needs to go in COVID. If there's not one maybe mods can start one and close this one and anti-vax because it's all over the shop.
When the season starts COVID posts are going to come thick and fast and needs to be in one place. IMO!?

One of the only athletes I know who gets put off if the crowd isn’t behind him. Loves the adoration.

That decision was about whether he was allowed the time to contact his lawyers… not whether he lied on his entry papers.
Two different things.
No win situation even though it is a fact he lied .. he has already said someone filled the card in for him( try getting away with that yourself lol).
Maybe they should make him apologise in public for filling out the card wrong … even though he’s lying about that and having had Covid.
Personally … I’d boot him.

We can all just agree he got special treatment because he's a famous tennis player, and then move on. I'm not too cut about it - famous people get preferential allowances all the time, it's just one of the perks of being a famous person. I would love for everything to be egalitarian all the time, but that's not how the world really works.

And nobody should be surprised to find out that Djokovic is a twat, because he's been like that for a long time.

Malcolm Knox wrote a good article in the SMH the other day, about how Djokovic's supreme self-confidence and mental toughness is both what makes him an all-time great tennis player, but also why he exists in his own off-kilter unreality, surrounded by disciples and sycophants.

Am I only one person who thinks it odd that there's a photo of him with a group on instagram even though he said he had Covid the day before the photo was taken?

A bit like Cam Smith perhaps.

Well, sounds a bit like every successful sports star. Remember Roger Federer back around the time we won our premiership during his winning speech mentioned me and I over a 10 times.

Their all mostly like that. What's new?

Federer is not and has never been up himself.

I disagree. Listen to some of his early interviews.

But he has certainly managed to cultivate and project an angelic persona of himself especially after initial success.

But look, that's how these guys get their edge.

Lucky I was bought up not to idolize anybody, just enjoy the sport and contest and ignore the character .

I sense that the WT forum and even our wonderful Mods.will not be able to help you here with your request.

Following the news that Scomo and his army of ABF officers tried to do same thing that you're asking for but failing at the courts.

I would of firstly have suggested that you write to Christian Porter for help but he has enough personal problems of his own that are coming out of, ahem you know, he needs help himself.

My only other suggestion would be that you write to Peter Dutton,.Mate, this guy is amazingly shifty and he gets away with it too, it seems like he has the impunity to get away with every mischief scot-free.

Besides many other mischief,
Remember this?

Scott Morrison backs Peter Dutton after Senate inquiry finds he misled Parliament over au pairs scandal. .

You see that, he misled, he lied and walked away scot-free.
So if you want a Foreigner to enter or leave the country **illegally**, mate, Dutton is the man to go to.

Maybe our definition of up himself is very different. When I think of that term I think of a twerp like Kyrigos

Not wrong there.
Kyrigos.

Imagine having a coffee with him. Shocking.
