Do players that leave the West Tigers

ever play any better than when they were with us? With the exception of Teddy, who was always good, there are very few players in the last 10 years that come to mind that have taken their game to a new level..Moral of the story is that sometimes you've got to know your limitations. I'd be very surprised at any team falling over themselves to get to one of our (current) players.

Moses is a better player, Fifita was a better player at the Sharks, Garlic sauce is a better player at Manly..are a couple that come to mind.
I guess it comes down to playing in a better team. Playing outside the likes of Munster would make most outside backs look good

Fifita, Papenhousen, Koroibete, JAC, Moses, N Brown

Good point.
Tedesco would of been pretty much the player he is now if he had of stayed at WT. Having a handful of rep players as teammates over the years has helped him out at Easts. Apart from that I don't see him doing too many things that he wasn't doing at WT.
Fifita was a beast in his prime, most destructive forward in the comp back then IMO. He showed glimpses of that at WT.

Well they have already grabbed Lucy, Gardner and Kelma and if we are not careful Papa and AK will be playing with all the development squad if we don't resign a few of our better players.

Fifita, Papenhousen, Koroibete, JAC, Moses, N Brown
All these guys were at a former stage of development, Moses was smaller Fifita and JAC played good footy with us at an earlier stage of development.

I might add Marty went backwards at Manly so did Woods. Esan Masters done nothing since leaving.

There's no trend that players go better or worse after moving on.

Teddy not our fault he wanted to play for roosters but we thought Paps too small ,JAC ,Moses, the list is endless .I think same people who didn't want them came up with the ridiculous signings of Ballin , Packer
Its all spilt milk I think our recruitment staff have changed?

in our collective wisdom, even Tedesco had serious failures e.g. running style, and "he is a read book, he cannot play against the stronger teams, he shall be moved to centres, or even better swapped for Moylan, or Whigthon" ??

To answer this particular question, what has to be taken into consideration is the PLAYERS TALENT AND ABILITY to start with to compete at NRL level...
People on here have mentioned many players that started with us and have gone elsewhere to become great players...I wont mention them all that has been done already...
It doesnt matter who coaches them or what colours they wear..ITS THE ABILITY TO COMPETE IN A PARTICULAR POSITION AT NRL level, they all know how to play, they all know how to train hard, they all know the basics of the game and they give their all for their CAREER...
I know you all want to pick at differing parts of all this BUT it comes back to the players ability...
Perfect example is Adam Reynolds the halfback for Souths that was no longer required at that club because they wanted some one else to play that role..Adam has been brilliant for Broncos and Souths have missed him immensley..
So is he not good enough because Souths dumped him or have Souths made a recruitment error...
I will leave it at that guys....

Fifita, Papenhousen, Koroibete, JAC, Moses, N Brown
Papenhousen, - no way he didnt play first grade and didnt he only leave cause we still had tedesco at the time ??
JAC - he was good with us too its just that some coach said he was crap
N Brown - he played one game with us and he was always gonna be a good player
fifta wasnt given enough time with us
koro as well and he was a handy winger in attack hes defense was still avg in melb
moses is kinda doing the same thing he was doing here its just parra has a better overall team and gave moses control of the team

IMHO, this characterises the WT's major issue, they release players because they thought we had enough depth??
This is in a way similar to releasing L Leilua, Tuilagi and Garner.
In the case of Papenhousen he mostly played 5/8 and FB, and at the time we had Moses and Tedesco, so he was considered as no loss because of perceived depth.
JAC - he was good with us too its just that some coach said he was crap
JAC, and Koroibete were also victims of our poor goal kicking option at the time, so we carried Jordan on the wing instead, considering him more important than much faster and superior JAC and Koroibete.
