Do we walk away from Musgrove signing?

He was still contracted by Souths until the end of this season

Pretty sure he was released from the final year of his contract..so Balmain Boy is right

yes was released to play for the WT’s

If he doesn’t get an offer …

A release is a release unless there was a stipulation that he got another NRL contract which I doubt..

So who is actually paying him - if anyone is. He is not contracted to us so i assume we aren't paying him. He would have been released by Souths to take up the contract we offered him which has now fallen through so i would assume his release is null and void. If that was the case Souths would have to pay him as he is still contracted to them? It would be interesting if someone in the know could provide some info of how this works when a player is in limbo between clubs.

Yes, until they released him from his contract. Therefore leaving him uncontracted.

It was of course only meant to be for a day or two as he had signed a contract with us, but then all this stuff happened which is down to his own behaviour and therefore that contract hasn't been registered. So therefore he currently has no contract with the NRL.

Musgrove is contracted or signed a contract with us..yes it must be registered with the NRL for him to play but as far as getting paid now I would say we are as he is training with us pending the outcome of his case .. what happens from there will depend on the verdict.

Signing subject to clearance from NRL. I think all announcements need this little bit too. What should we be liable when NRL will not clear the contract?

If the NRL does not register his contract, do the payments made by the Tigers to Musgrove come under or outside the salary cap?

As I alluded to when I started this thread topic, there is a huge amount of grey isnt there in this issue that needs to be teased out by the NRL not the clubs since they (the NRL) have the initial start point of clearing the contract- let alone actually doing their job of ensuring the contract amounts are inside the salary cap but lets not go there…...................

Exactly - thats what i was getting at - he is not contracted to us so why should we pay him - and if we are and he is found guilty and not registered by the NRL will they repay the monies we have paid him.

In one of the recent Go interviews she mentioned we are paying him to train with us. Which is probably outside the cap.

I wonder if we will come under any scrutiny for that from the NRL for that.

Why can Coleman (who was charged with Musgrove) continue to play and make sex tapes, but Zane’s contract cannot be registered?

That is because Toddles believes in "fairness" and not "equality".I honestly dont know how any supporter who loves the game can have any faith in Greenberg it is all about favouritism.

Has Alex Seyfarth been promoted to the top 30? I was looking on Tigers web site & his photo is there

Looks like. 30 listed, not including Musgrove.

Haven't seen much of Seyfarth. Anyone have an opinion?

33 listed. All 4 2019 development players are listed but no actual details are shown other than a photo.

And Seyfarth has a long way to go. Big boy, tackles a lot, runs soft. Works his ass off and has a very good attitude which augurs well, but lacks impact. Similar to Eisenhuth in a way.
