Does Anyone Feel the Same?

I'm not sure if it is the forum, or a general public thing, but it's a bit uncomfortable being a Tigers supporter this year. O.K., the team hasn't had a dream run since 2005, although they gave the trophy a bit of a nudge last year, but the Tigers as a team have seem pretty united.
But this year, the number of discontented rumours, players pushed, infighting etc is making this a place I'm scared to log on to.
Is there really so much drama happening at the Wests Tigers this year, and will the season implode as a result?

Agree it's been hard this year. I didn't even cheer at the panthers game when we won…. But we can and will turn it around. Have faith tigergirlz

Never uncomfortable bein a tigers supporter, I wear my jerseys with pride! I do know what you mean there does seem to be a lot of drama surrounding the club that is having an impact on the field. Maybe someone closer to the playing group could provide a bit of insight to what's happening

Your emotions are probably a mixture of disappointment and even stress as a result of coming into this season with high expectations.
I feel the same and I'm sure the players would too. Chin up

All seems pretty normal if you ask me

Probably like many of us who just can't understand why year after year we have fairly major injury tolls (compared to other clubs )and is there a reason for it ???

It hasnt been a fun year so far. We seem to have rumours every year about player unrest, but this year its a bit worse.

I still think we will finish well, just need some luck with injuries.

we had drama last year, especially around the time we played souths @ scg. the week after we beat newcastle in newcastle and our season was back on track. feels a bit like this year. we win mon nite and we are still in the top 8\. not bad considering the injuries we have had. im not panicking yet but if knights beat us then i might be worried

Yeah we had our drama's against Souths last year and also this year I am afraid. But I think it is all the other stuff - Benji and the blue, Blair supposedly coming and Fulton and Gibbs being shopped around, Hino being shopped around, some BIg name Tiger calling it quits, the Social Media scandal, seems to be one thing after another.

Like any club they have their ups and downs but seems so much more this year.

Been getting a lot of s*** from people coz we didn't have a single rep in SOO this year.
Hopefully changes tomorrow.

The team has been significantly affected by any number of things happening close to each other IMO. Such things include a significant injury toll in terms of the number of players involved and the number of our top players at that. This would have a huge effect on any club. Then there was the Sheens situation where it took him ages to come to terms with the club for one reason or another. It is clear that the club is also looking to sign Blair and because of salary cap pressure adjustments have to be made to playing strength which may or may not be causing some tension. Add to these issues the fact that some sections of the media like to beat a story up about there being dramas at the club and unfortunately a perception is created for some. Now that players are returning WTs should pick up a few wins and the gloom and doom will be a thing of the past IMO the team will kick on :sign:

Didn't have a rep in SOO last year either, and I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anyone to be selected in the remaining games of this series. Our players aren't even in the selectors' minds.

Has anyone seen the Big League this week? Has a pic of Robbie on the cover and a story with him vowing that the Tigers will turn their season around. He said the team was sick of all the bad press surrounding them this year and he thought that someone in the media definitely had it in for the team. Read into that what you will.

Remember Hopoate and his finger?
Remember Terry Lamb as clash?
Remember Craig Field and Kevin McGuinness testing positive to drugs?

I know that was Pre-2005, but things aren't that bad really

Mate I feel the same, the professional front the club is demonstrating is not being reflected on the paddock or in the news.
A combination of Injuries, quality players coming through the ranks, those moving on next year and future signings are all playing a massive role hey.
Folks going to St George, Moltzen genuinely struggling for form (he will be our long term full back or 14 utility), key injuries to LT, CL, TP, GE, WMcK, KG, And Fulton and Gibbs have shed light on the likes of Dwyer, Woods, Fifita, Brown and BMM.
A lot of new faces and old heads are colliding and is rapidly heading to a big bang. This week's team will be a sniff of things to come in the future..
Key characters like Beau Ryan, Gibbs, and Fulton are all of a sudden finding themselves out of favour.. Bring it on!

Not really. Any die hard fan of the Tigers….or Balmain circa 1992+ usualy feels like this every year. Balmain didnt have the superstars after 93/4 (except Sirro and Brasher) to compete with the rest but tried hard enough to put in a show. After the 2000 merger i thought it would be a great opportunity to hit it out with the big boys, but after McCrackons injury the Tigers fell into a heap and stayed that way for a few years . After the useless debacle years of drugs/coaching methods and finger ???pointing??? it seemed like business as usual for the Tigers between 2000-2004 until the young'ns came through, blew everyone off the park and took the title in '05.. the thing that peevs me off the most is that since that title, the Tigers have had the team to win it every year since, but injuries and stupid team selections have killed us for 5years.

So in summary, yes, ive felt like this (i.e dissapointment) since mid 1990's onwards, but especially the last few years. i really feel that simply the right team slections could have improved our previous seasons results. This year just feels like the same stuff ive seen since the mid 90's

not many injuries in the second half of the year helped. players in key positions playing their best: hodgo, benj, prince, farah
